Even Batman?

Well, if you want to break it down, yes - Batman's whole shtick is "waaah - parents dead!" and "will not kill".

Much as I love Batman, I can't see how his character is any more fleshed out than Thor's.

Perhaps people find Thor bland, which is fair enough - but I don't reckon Thor is any less dimensional than any other hero (except Moon Knight and Aquaman).

WTF is wrong with you? What's it to you how many times I watch a movie at the cinemas? Sorry, I decided to watch the 4th highest grossing film of all time in the cinemas, I'm sorry that doesn't meet with your approval, Quint

Who cares if it's the 4th highest grossing film of all time!
You're saying that like it's some kind of seal of excellence.

Here's the top 4 highest grossing movies of all time:

1. Avatar - highly derivative, with a weak story. Cool visuals, but ultimately boring.
2. Titanic - Terrible movie with awful dialogue, bland love story, one-dimensional characters. Cool visuals though.
3. Avengers - entertaining, but ultimately hollow movie held together by some good actors and (once again) cool visuals.
4. Furious 7 - fun but incredibly stupid. The series has basically become a cartoon. Boring characters are surrounded by incredibly unfunny ones (who are supposed to be funny).

I remember when the top grossing list used to have great movies like Star Wars, ET and Jurassic Park.
Those were the days.

I'm in the same boat and I havn't hit 30 either.
Marvel movies don't particularly do anything for me whatsoever.
Guardians was good as you mentioned, but I find it lacking the rewatchability.

One trailer which has me interested in the new Mad Max movie though.

I've noticed that this has been a problem with most of the Marvel movies - they don't hold up on repeat viewings.
Even Avengers, which I loved at first, isn't that great. I watched it again a couple weeks ago and it just wasn't the great movie I remember it being.

Iron Man is probably the only one that is still as good today as the first time I saw it.

I loved Winter Soldier. Reminded me of old school conspiracy movies from the 70s, but with superheroes instead of Robert Redford.

I did like Winter Soldier (though again, not as good second time around - but still good).
It makes me glad that the writers/directors will be the ones working on the next Avengers movie.
I think Joss Whedon is overrated.

I love Whedon, but he's best used in a series setting. I'm not sure he works when he only has 2-3 hours to establish relationships and callbacks.

Just rewatched the Mad Max Trilogy.

Despite the rather cruddy Peter Pan second act in the third film, they're absolutely amazing and set the standard for post-apocalyptic films.

I haven't been this excited about a movie since Dredd. Please don't judge me because I watched that 4 times at the cinema!

A lot of Aussies are rediscovering the Mad Max movies lately and its great to see. In a funny way, the movie is underrated in our culture.

Considering Mad Max and Mad Max 2 were made in 1979 and 1981 respectively, I would say that a fair proportion of people are discovering these movies, since they probably weren't born at the time.

I refused to watch Mad Max 3 (Beyond Thunderdome or whatever) due to the fact that Tina Turner was in it. Never seen it.

The first two were absolute classics without a doubt.

Finally went and saw Avengers age of ultron, enjoyed it quite a bit but it's not a patch on the first one.

Spader was pretty awesome as ultron though, it just lacked the newness and wow factor of the first one.

Age of Ultron was extremely underwhelming.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Vision and Scarlet Witch. I wonder if they'll get their own stand alone movie.

Mmmm teh b00bies.

Saw The Debt Collector (Billy Connolly) the other day, not the most amazing film but still a bit gritty and uncomfortable in parts. Same could be said for Seraphim Falls (not so much uncomfortable, but a coupla ooooh that''s gotta hurt moments) which I caught on TV last night.

Looking forward to Fury Road - hoping to catch that at the movies within the week before I hear anything specific about it (aside from the fact it's been garnering positive reviews).

Watched Hot Tub Time Machine 2 today. Not sure why they bothered making it if they couldn't get John Cusack back.

The concept worked because you had a likable straight man as the focus of the story. The three guys remaining are perfectly good at being funny, but you need some substance to go in between all of the gross out gags and weirdness.

Absolute shit. 2/10

I think people are harsh on the third movie. It is a good flick, but not a patch on the first two.

Watched Lincoln Lawyer today (inspired by seeing McConaughey's South Park cameo recently). Actually a really good crime drama/thriller.

Hope to see Mad Max this week, just need to decide between 3d or 2d (prefer 2d in general but undecided on this one).

15 mins of 50 shades... Didn't even get to the ''good'' bit. Movie is f**king awful. I can see why the reviews basically called it a rip off of twighlight.
