Just tried to watch THe colour of magic. I figured that if I couldnt really get into the book, I may be able to get into the movie... No such luck. Waste of 3/4 of an hour.

Watched Hot Tub Time Machine 2 today. Not sure why they bothered making it if they couldn't get John Cusack back.

The concept worked because you had a likable straight man as the focus of the story. The three guys remaining are perfectly good at being funny, but you need some substance to go in between all of the gross out gags and weirdness.

Absolute shit. 2/10

Duck. f**king. Dynasty.

50 Shades of Grey (with the missus).
Oh god why did I do this to myself! I knew it was gonna be shit, it was even worse than I imagined.
On the plus side, I got some play afterwards.

I ended up watching Avengers tonight after initially being nonplussed from the trailer, it was very.... busy. A fun enough romp for a cheap Tuesday at the movies, but man this whole Marvel connected Universe deal is tiring for an old fullah like me.

Also so many one-liners and superhero movie cliches. As Commandant Lassaud would say, many MANY one-liners.

Mad Max definitely the winner of the two for mine of movies I've seen this past week!

Finally got round to watching Nightcrawler on Netflix. Awesome movie! Found it disturbing that I was backing him with his crazy schemes lol.

Mad Max - Fury Road
f**king Awesome. mind blown

5/5

Spy
Spy was a half hour too long. but it was funny. dialogue was quite amusing. Rose Byrne was good in her roile as the evil posh bitch. The "face off machine" bit was f**king funny.
good use of the word "thundermerkin"

With the amount of movies you've seen, as per the number of your posts in this thread, I would've thought you saw it years ago.

Re watched the orginal Mad Max after Origin. Holds up pretty well aside from the hokey music and the fact it's basically a low budget film shot in a rural community.

Still a cracking film. 8/10

Finally saw Mad Max, essentially just a raw 2 hour chase film. Loved it, 8/10
Most impressive thing is that 80% of it was stunts and props, with limited use of CGI

One thing I noticed in the trailers for Jurassic World and Terminator Genysis is just how plastic and fake they look compared to their 90s originals. It's actually gone backwards.

Event Horizon - holds up well. Still pretty creepy. Love the films from the late 90's used visual fx sparingly, mix of models and computer fx, it didn't seem dated at all.

Mad Max - I don't know if I'd ever seen this fully before. Amazing how well it holds up for a 30+ year old film. Great universe.

Stigmata - not that great. Liked it better when I originally saw it. Got a good story and the acting is ok, just poorly put together.

Zero Dark Thirty - not as good as I hoped it would be. Drawn out a bit much, wouldn't watch it again.
