Rewatched a few old favourites over the weekend:

- Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure: 7/10. Still holds up, Much funnier now that I get the more adult jokes about Oedipal complexes etc.

- The Santa Clause: 7/10. One of my all time favourite Christmas movies. Special effects are kind of grim compared to what we're capable of now, but it's got a lot of heart.

- Groundhog Day: 10/10. My all-time favourite comedy. Brilliant.

I didn't mind the first one... but Wolf Creek 2 went full genius... Pretty much from the opening scene where he gets pulled over by the cops and then ends up going after them and disposing of them, I thought to myself... well this is just going gore for the sake of gore...

I watched the doco Blackfish again over the weekend. Those of you with Netflix and haven't seen it, I recommend it.

The first one was pretty good. Second one was utter shit.

Watched the special editions of the original Star Wars trilogy over this past week which were shown on Sky TV last week, to prepare for the lead up to Episode VII which I'm going to on Thursday.
Recorded I, II & III but will leave those till afterwards to watch again.

Still loved them, but man some of those Special Edition additions blow, even more now that it's been a while since I last watched them. The worst for me is the Sy Snootles band becoming some pop shit in Jabba's Palace (even though the music later on Jabbas Barge is the same alien music I grew up loving), I know that annoyed me back when I saw it at cinemas in 1997, but goddamn it is worse than Jar Jar Binks and YIPPEEE for me.
Darth Vaders NOOOOOOOO shoehorned into the climactic Emperor throw was a bit cringe, as was the Jabba scene in A New Hope.

Gotta go back home one day and find the old VHS's of the ORIGINAL originals recorded from TV in the 80s and 90s. Which has the added benefit of awesome 80s & 90s TV ads (at least those we didn't 'pause' out back in the day).

Watched John Wick the other night, Keanu gets a lot of stick for his acting, but he does kickass very very well. Enjoyable for a light evening's entertainment.
