"Enemy", the 2013 psychological thriller starting Jake Gyllenhall.

It was brilliant - a total mindf**k, but I absolutely loved it.

The fact that you are open to interpret what the film means is a bonus.

Adam Sandler is just someone I cannot get into. I've never liked his so-called classics in "Happy Gilmore" and "Billy Madison".

Funny enough, my favourite Sandler movie is "The Longest Yard" where he happens to do less shouting than he normally does.

Watched Southpaw again because Kurt Sutter is so f**king bad ass!

I generally love sports comedys and dramas but these days boxing films seem to be so by the numbers. Basically a bunch of blokes training to hip hop music and white boys acting black.

Mission Impossible : Rogue Nation

Been a while since I've watched any of these films but the trailers looked good and the movie itself is even better. Better than any Bond film.

Saw two movies last night.

1. Oculus - Not a bad movie. Gets a bit confusing towards the end though.

2. It Follows - interesting.

The Man From UNCLE.

I loved it. Very, very cool.

What I love is that Richie has gone and done 2 big screen adaptations (UNCLE and Sherlock Holmes) in recent times yet they have been so enjoyable because he still maintains the film making aesthetics of the likes of Snatch.

The Martian.

Great movie with a few genuine funny bits in it.

Have got Creed, Concussion and Straight Outta Compton to watch over the next few nights.

Well they left it wide open with that ending!

I really enjoyed it too, and it was obviously left ambiguous so as to leave it open for potential sequels.

Not sure how well it did at the box office, but I'd be on board to watch again. Loved the entire cast.

----

Watched Mr. Holmes on Christmas night.

It's a tad sedate, but McKellan is great and the entire thing has a really depressing sobriety to it.

6.5/10

The Martian. Pretty good. I saw somewhere that someone has estimated the costs of rescuing matt Damon in his movies, came in at $900 billion.

Brilliant, brilliant film.

The ending left me somewhat unsatisfied, but I loved it.

Me too. I kept hoping for her to come back, but it stuck with me long after the film had finished.

I can't say I'd remember the film as fondly if it had ended with a happy ending.

I think for me it was how it got to that point that left me unsatisfied.

But I truly loved this film. It's a powerful bit of cinema.
