Edge of Tomorrow is one of the most entertaining movies I've seen this century to date.

I rate it that highly. So much fun and chugs along at a cracking pace, without sacrificing character development.

Agreed

I remember thinking to myself, at the time it came out, how on earth a film can possibly be entertaining when the whole film is de ja vu. But wow, i was pleasantly surprised. Really good watch

Goosebumps - Not a bad popcorn movie.

50 First Dates - My missus loves this movie. I don't mind it either... one of Sandlers better films imo.

Enemy Mine. Movie from way back in 1985 with Dennis Quaid. Haven't seen it for easily 15 years, holds up really well, especially for a sci-fi. Story about a man and an alien who are at war who end up stranded on a planet together. Worth a watch if you've never seen it.

I've seen it. It's ok. I've read the book too.

beasts of no nation - not bad

black mass - not the best mob movie but still good, johnny depp pulled off changing from his standard goof he plays to a straight out psychotic pretty well

Spotlight.

I'm all for clergy molestation humor but this was pretty earth shattering.

I was raised Catholic (well, for all intents and purposes I am Catholic seeing as my parents made the decision to baptise me and you can't undo that shit) and my priest was the most wonderful fella you would ever hope to meet (aside from the shit jokes he told in his sermons and catching me square in the eye with the holy water off a palm leaf during an Easter service). He used to come around for dinner when I was a kid or would stop by and see my mother on a whim if he felt like it. A genuinely nice fella so even now I still hold him in pretty high regard. We also had another priest at our parish (who swore like a sailor which is probably why I liked him!) who was on 60 Minutes or similar who spoke out about other clergy on the very same subject.

I know it was a movie but the context of all of it (the cover ups, the varying states of mind of the victims, the complicity of the defense lawyers, the effect it had on the reporters covering the case etc) was pretty brutal.

Enemy with Jake Gyllenhaal. Wow, very strange, esp the ending, but I have read some opinions online afterwards and chose an opinion I agree with. Good movie anyway, keeps you guessing.

Predestination. Wow that was a good one. Really took me by surprise how much it surprised me :)
Definitely worth a watch. Hope the Aussie writer/director brothers get bigger and better opportunities.

Crimson Peak.

From what I saw in the previews a few months back i was expecting more of a ghost story.

Pretty disappointing.

This was superbly done, and surprisingly tight in terms of plot given it's sci fi elements.

The Hateful 8. Almost 3 hours but i was riveted the whole time. Jennifer Jason-Leigh has to be a shoe in for the best supporting actress Oscar. 8.5/10.
