The Revenant - Really good film but I thought Leo needed to go Breakdown Mountain with his indian horse buddy to guarantee that Oscar. 8/10

Spotlight - Heart-breaking expose of the child abuse in the church. Very moving but not really worthy of the oscar nom i think. 7/10.

Thought that The Hateful 8 was better than all the Oscar Nominated films I have watched thus far (Rev, Spotlight, Martian, Bridge of Spies, Mad Max).

Enemy with Jake Gyllenhaal. Wow, very strange, esp the ending, but I have read some opinions online afterwards and chose an opinion I agree with. Good movie anyway, keeps you guessing.

which opinion did you agree with???

Sicario. It's well, different. Was a good movie, left me wanting more as both the good guys and bad guys didn't win or lose

I think you'll find that the resolution was when Brolin told Blunt about what their true.motives were for using Del Toro. And my gawd he was so bad ass!

Can't wait for Zoolander 2. I expect it will usher in an ew era of comedy.

Creed. Definitely not a blight on the franchise. Ended with what felt like the middle of the story so wont be suprised if there is one more. 6.5/10.

The raid 2
A good follow up to the raid
Who would of thought that some of the greatest action movies would come out of Indonesia.
Not for the squeamish though, some fights can be gruesome and I'm sure i said 'oh f**k' at least 100 times over the 2 movies.

Star Wars IV - 8/10. it really showed how TFA is aligning itself closely to the original trilogy and far far away from the prequels. The four movies really seem like they're in the same league. ANH has aged splendidly.

What people might have forgotten:

- The script is pretty horrible and a lot of the acting is quite flat.
- Hamill is every bit as whiny as Christiansen (Lucas trying to draw a parallel?)
- Guinness and Fisher commit, but Ford is sarcastically mouthing off as if expecting a B grade flop
- Vadar is very much on a leash as their brute enforcer, not much else
- The Vadar-Luke plot twist made no sense with not one but many bits of dialogue outright stating Luke had a "father" killed by Vadar. I remember contradictions but didn't realise it was this obvious.
- Clear attempts at chemistry between Luke and Leia, the love triangle arc was totally butchered
- HAN SHOT FIRST!

Huh?

Obi Wan knows Anakin is the father of Leia and Luke, and also knows who/what Anakin became. Why wouldn't he flat out lie to Luke about his father in an attempt to protect him?

The Vader-Luke plot twist has made perfect sense since 1980, and now it doesn't because it's just too obvious, as you put it?
