Parks and recreation is the best. The first season is a drag, but after that it goes from strength to strength. Amy is great in it, nick offerman even better. But Chris Pratt is the true star of the show

Yeah. That seems to be the general consensus about season 1...

They tried too hard to be like the office in season 1. Came into their own in from season 2 onwards

Yeah, this was very much my impression of it. I remember trying to watch the first season a few times, and just being turned off by the fact it felt like The Office with a new cast. I liked The Office fine, but I didn't need a second version of it.

It's really come into its own as I've watched (I'm in early season four now). Leslie is less annoying, guys like Nick Offerman, Aziz Asnari, and Chris Pratt are being used well, and there's just a great zaniness to Pawnee that wasn't present in Scranton.

"50 Shades of Grey" is the worst movie I've seen in a very long time. It is not even sexy in any way. It is just plain boring and weird. It seemed like an episode of "Days of our Lives'. I turned it off after 55 minutes.

Her. Interesting movie which is probably not far from the truth.
A few things I can relate with having recently gone through a breakup.
I think Scarlett Johanson's voice is sexier than the whole 50 Shades of Grey movie.

12 Years a Slave - 8/10 excellent yet very intense and raw, hard watch, have to be in the right frame of mind
The Equalizer - 7/10, good fun but cliched
Transcendence - 7/10, had incredible potential but they didn't pull it off, the ending was a massive cop out, a missed chance

Loved that film.

I watched "The Good Dinosaur" yesterday.

It's better off being renamed "The Good Nemo King", tbh.

I know it's aimed at kids, but Disney-Pixar are just phoning it in now.

Aren't you glad they replaced Samantha Moreton at the last minute?

The Revenant is good, great cinematography and acting. The bear scene is epic, but not very entertaining

And not nearly as rapey as the sensationalist media had made it out to be.

Watched Excalibur for the first time (I'm pretty sure at least) last night.

For all the cheesy overacting and odd flow of the film, it was still pretty entertaining. Also cool to see young Patrick Stewart, Liam Neeson, Gabriel Byrne & Helen Mirren do their thing.

Saw The Revenant and throughly enjoyed it, the cinematography is amazing and Leo should finally pick up his Oscar, Hardy might even too.

9/10.

Watched it last night and really enjoyed it.

Visually stunning, technically brilliant, and some really intense sequences. I loved it.

9/10

Yeah I thoroughly enjoyed The Revenant. It is a stunning achievement when you consider how difficult it must have been to make that movie. The cinematography was unreal.

Just behind Mad Max as my best movie of 2015.

Having worked in book retail and publishing when the popularity of this novel was at its peak and everyone wanted to read it I honestly can't rap my head around this.

I read the first 30 or 40 pages that one of my reps got me and put it down. I mean, working in a hardware store and the guy comes in wanting cable ties? Give me a break!
There's a piss funny review of it on goodreads;

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/340987215

I went to the launch of the Fifty Shades "official pleasure collection" which is just branded sex toys years ago (there was also free food and free piss. Don't judge me) and I stood in the corner for most of the event with one of my colleagues shaking our heads and cringing and trying not to laugh at some of the "demonstrations" and promotional material that was being rolled out.

"Secretary" on the other hand deals with similar subject matter but is more tasteful and much better written than FSG would been (I've not seen it and don't intend to).

There was a book written from the man's perspective as well and EL James held a Q&A on Twitter for it and hilarity ensued.

Vile - some sort of Saw ripoff with people torturing/mutilating themselves. I tend to like these kind of movies...not this one. Horrible.

Project Almanac - really enjoyed this, makes you wish you were in the main characters shoes, what would you do? Didn't really need the found footage approach (like the better films like this don't) but it doesn't really detract from the movie.
