My take on round 1

Broncos V NQC- 45,000
Bulldogs V Wests- 19,000 (if its dry)
Penrith V Knights- 16,000
Canberra V Cronulla- 14,000
Roosters V Rabbitohs- 28,000
Melbourne V Manly- 15,000
Titans V Dragons- 26,000 (surely must sell out!)
Warriors V Eels- 26,000

All up an average of 23625. It will top last years RD1 IMO

Broncos could be a sell out:

Fans Smash Early Ticket Record
Trad McLean - Bronco Media
14/02/2011

FANS smashed a record this morning when they snapped up 1800 tickets in the first hour of selling for the Broncos-Cowboys opening-round blockbuster at Suncorp Stadium.

The number was 500 more than was sold in the first hour last year, and comes on top of the 1750 sold in pre-sale to members and Broncos Facebook fans last week.

The Broncos are aiming to top the 48,000-plus crowd attracted for the round-one game last year.

Season Memberships are still the cheapest option for securing your seat at all Broncos’ home games.

Tickets for the Cowboys match and all 12 Broncos home games are now available by clicking here.

If the storm only get 15K to the opening game than that is abysmal and a really bad sign for the game in Melbourne.

The game in Melbourne is going from strength to strength. 15 k the same week as the rebels play there, won't be too bad at all.

It would also be higher on their average crowd for last year as well.

Ahhh crowds....here we go again...

What will we see this year? Another small increase? Will the Sharks and Panthers once again lose more fans? Will the NZ crowds increase? Will the Broncos crowd continue to increase?

Will Sydney sellout its Origin match?

First game of the year, Manly are close to our highest drawing opponent and its our first game back playing for points.

Its a very bad sign if the storm only get 15K.

Storm would have to beat 15,000. Home crowds averaged 14,700 last year at the new stadium n they werent earning any points...look for closer to 20K

Has Suncorp got reduced capacity after floods or is this a mistake?

Like the optomism but both Roosters & Dogs crowds are on the high side. I would agree with Dogs/Tigers crowd on a Sunday arvo but not a Monday night.

Melbourne should be marketting the hell out of their opening game. If they could get more than the rebels did in their first game (25k?) then it will be a massive moral victory.

they averaged 12,670 at AAMI

& thats with 2 that drew over 20K
( V Broncos for opening game & last one V Knights )
so for the other 8 at AAMI they averaged approx just 10K a game

15K will be a pretty good turnout for the first outing of the year .........

I think the Raiders will fare a lot better than most are predicting. I'll be very disappointed if we draw less than 17,000.

They weren't playing for points last year. The first game of the year is usually a big draw as well.

If the storm get 15K or less to the first game, thats a terrible crowd and not really a good sign for the club at all.
