I rate Sauiluma as well. Also Ashford is a million times fitter this year and at his best is a great player.

What was our backline at the Auckland 9 ' s out of curiosity?

Robson 7. Nu Brown 6. Bird. 3 Ashford 4. Sauiluma. 5 Feki . 2 Holmes. 1 ..... is that right guys ?

I know it was only the nines but they were carving it up!

Barba would be good on bench, already twice in 5 games Ennis has gone down, having Barba on bench gives us coverage there swapping Robson to rake.

Barba gives us a super sub, soemthing we havent had in ages and the way Flanno has used the 4th bench player its not as if he gets lots of minutes.

The other wildcard and when is fit Flanno said will push for FG is Gagan, he played wing last year but i think would make a great centre plenty of size and strength about him

Oh great! Now its the get rid of Gordon Brigade!

f**king bloke has been our best for 2 years and has done nothing wrong this year!

He should be doing the rotation with Val until he goes, which imo is either the end of this year or after one more year.

The other wing combo does not change! Feki and leu have a combo and its working, when they get good ball they are dangerous.

The other side is up for debate. Gordon and Val rotate the wing with centre being an interesting one, Beale has to get better, he hasn't done a lot wrong or right but he needs to get better.

There's the opportunity for Ayshford, Gagan or Salimumla to come in OR gordon can play centre with Val on the wing. then the rotation will be Barba and Val.

I'd prefer that it's Barba is super sub or bust tbh.

Gordon being our best player over the last 2 years is a bit far fetched?

He was our best player last year in a rabble of a side and I think the year before our best player was Andrew Fifita by a country mile.

This is a business not a f**kin charity. No wonder the cabinet is empty

Barba to the wing.

Holmes to fullback.

Gordon to the centres.

Beale to the Jets.

Leutele does a lot of the hard yard runs out of our own end and makes good metres. He also has a good combination with Feki.. Beale has shown nothing in 5 games. He has been solid, but someone has to go.

Frenzy.

I rate Sauiluma... Most damaging ball runner in the Newtown squad, but has issues with ball control. Flanno said he was pushing hard for a FG spot.

Was on Beale's side of the field yesterday and his defence and defensive structure looked woeful.. Bird was making up for his shortcomings all day...and I thought it was the halves that needed protection!

Bird to right centre and Barba back to 6 is the most likely option. Bird was fantastic but I think he had the advantage of unknown status too. I reckon him in the centres with a license to run in the six position ala Hodges would be very troubling for oppositions.

Sauiluma if he gets his hands in on the left, Bird on the right, Barba one more crack at 6...Beale told to get in the gym until his upper body no longer resembles an underfed 14 year ols

Simplistic. Holmes defensive structure was woeful as well sorry to say. Then you have snowball effect from the outside in.

Fb - Barba
Wingers - Feki and Holmes
Centres - Gordon and Leutele/Beale

Flash is a solid defender and reads the play well. Centre was his favourite position before he played fullback.

Holmes is too good not to be playing FB. But this is probably the most likely situation... I'd drop Leutele

So many theories.....

Tomorrow will be interesting.

Only Gallen knows Flemmmmo gets told tomorrow.

Carney inside Bird....

Barba hmmmm...

Hopefully Laurie only takes Gallen. So we make the finals by winning during origin.

The way things are looking I can't see Fifita getting selected for Origin. As for Lewie maybe on trust

He did BB - that was a certain try.

He does well defensively and his work under the high ball was good yesterday.
But that's what he's paid to do.
He's also paid to be dangerous with the ball or link as an extra man in attack and whether through a bad game plan or a lack of ability he hasn't looked as dangerous for 3 seasons as Holmes did in one game yesterday.

And Holmes played less than half the game at the back.

Holmes needs to go to 1 now for the 80. He's ready - what the f**k is Flanno doing.?..... 'Holmes is the fullback but he's not THE fullback because l can't demote Gordon to the wing - so lve demoted Gordon but l haven't demoted Gordon and I've made Holmes fullback but he's not really".

What is that - is Holmes fullback or what?!?

Put Gordon on the wing and leave him there. Other coaches don't carry with this limp wristed approach where I'm everybody's mate so I don't make a tough call.

Have another chat to him Lyall.

Personally I'd have Gordon in the centres before Beale. His defence is good enough and he's a bullocking runner - one on one near the line he'd be handy.

Beale did absolutely charm all at Broncs saints and NZ..... Why you buy a player who has never shown anything is beyond me. What is he gonna strike form with us??.... It's the opposite.

Another observation from the replay - Lewis appeared to run different lines to his normal into the brick wall stuff.

As a Broncos fan who watched the train wreck which was Ben Barba last season, I'm not surprised that this thread has surfaced so early in the year.

The answer to the question is the NSW Cup.

Thinking BB off the bench. Tired forwards and coaches would shit seeing him run on with 15 to go.

Was kinda thinking Robbo to the bench to come on and steady the ship when needed but...Barba would be scary off the bench.
