Where will SBW rank among the game's best ever second rowers?

There's no doubt when the Roosters signed SBW on a 1 year deal, they had a premiership on their minds.

Fast forward 6 months...

Is there another player that has that effect in the NRL right now?

His effect isn't restricted to this code either

What effect has SBW got on another code atm???????

Take SBW and Inglis away and Souths would suffer more than Easts. The same for us without Hayne, Melbourne without Smith, NQ without JT - and we will soon see Canterbury without Barba.

I still say that Maloney, Jennings, JWH and maybe RTS had a bigger impact on Easts than SBW.

With the inclusion of Inglis to Souths, did Souths believe they could win the comp? Probably yes.

Did they?

Many Easts players throughout the season went on record saying that SBWs presence instilled belief within the squad.

Talk about stats all you want, but it's the belief as well as ability that forged their season.

F*ck that's pathetic logic :lol::lol:

So you are saying that the inclusion of Maloney, Jennings and O'Donnell made Roosters players still think they were shit?

I'm damn sure the Cowpats thought they were a chance, but only because of Thurston in their side.

So if Maloney, Jennings and O'Donnell went to Cowboys next season then surely they win the comp right?

Only a blind numbat could ignore what Maloney and Jennings did for you in the GF.

But if they were with the Cowpats with JT in the halves, its a very different story. NQ need a decent halves partner for JT. Inglis was at his best in the centres running off Thurston. Imagine how good Jennings would be if he had JT as well as Maloney inside him, instead of that plodder Pearce.

Besides, NQ's golden age coincided with O'Donnell in their pack.

By your logic, we would have been undefeated of we had SBW last year :lol:

SBW is a fantastic player. I'll happily watch any Roosters game and he is a big reason for that. However, he has only played a few seasons and most of it as a kid.

SBW has been nowhere near as influential as other players mentioned. He isn't a great. Just a supremely talented athlete who couldn't stick to any one sport long enough to dominate.

Maybe he didn't need to. Maybe he didn't care about the accolades. maybe he wanted the money. Maybe he just can't concentrate. He isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. But he isn't a great by any stretch of the imagination.

Tommy and the fellow members of the SBW cult have already gone full genius -in fact set up their commune there and claimed it.

It wouldnt surprise me that when SBW enters retirement in 2015 because his body couldnt possibly take a 4th season of RL, that Tommy and his fellow cult members race off to a cave in Siberia to wait the imminent end of the world. Either that, or have a Jonestown type mass suicide at Bondi Junction.

And even a blind numbat could see what SBW did for us in the GF.

Well in the second half anyway. He was terrible in the first half then a few 50:50 plays came off and he finished the match in grand style. But a great plays at a high level for the full 80 and does it game in, game out. That ain't SBW.

Soooooo when the game was on the line and we were behind after 2 quick tries SBW stands up and sets up the win.....and he's bagged for it? Hahaha

Yeah breaking the line with straight hard running was a 50/50 play. Someone like Hindy who played the percentages would've done the smart thing and taken the tackle.
