Who replaces Cappy?

Well that's the season. Classic Warriors. Start looking the goods and then when it matters most, get completely steamrolled at home by a bottom of the table team. We won't make the finals. In fact I'm not surprised if we lose the rest of our games after that one.

So Cappy has clearly failed his mandate of making the 8. In fact he had it easy due to Parra dropping out and he's still going to fail. I hope and pray Doyle doesn't let the excuse of injuries allow Cappy to stay on. If you set a mandate like that you have to stick to it.

Season isn't over yet. Tedesco looks like he's out for the Tigers so we should roll them and Parra appear to have put the cue in the rack. Can't see us getting close to NQ. But two wins will likely sneak us into 8th.

Out of curiosity, which position would you like to see Tui play?

Firstly, I'd like to see him play the same one for 8-10 weeks. He had 6 weeks at FB before being dropped to the bench, and did any of us think he was going that bad? I didn't. We came back from the bye and looked pretty good, as a unit I thought. Yeah, he wasn't tearing up with 10/10 sort of games but I can't remember any significant errors and if there were defensive positioning/effort issues, they should have been worked on. We weren't shipping big points during that time.

Look at Lance Hohaia - he became an NRL standard footballer when, through injury, he was given a full season to learn his position. I don't remember the exact game-by-game form but I'm sure he didn't start filling in for Wade as the finished product. Before that, he was tried in the halves - also his jnr position - and never really looked that comfortable there. Moved to utility and did a job, but made his niche as a fullback in that great run in 08.

So yeah to answer your question, fullback. When RTS is back, if it's five-eighth - which Doyle and McFail have continuously said - then bloody well keep him there for an extended period of time and coach, which is actually your job description.

Those people saying Tui hasn't set the world alight, his form hasn't been good enough...go on a site called rugbyleagueproject.com and plot how many different positions he's played over his career. It is insane. No footballer would be in any sort of form if they were forced to come into their first and second full seasons and play 5-6 positions, and be swapped around them quite regularly. With a decent coach and ownership of the No.1 jersey since RTS went down, I have no doubt he would be repaying the favour with form.

Possibly, but we probably need to win all three to make the 8 which we won't

It's on absolute life support, our season. Honestly, we are probably medically dead if not legally. The Panthers and Tigers play next week, while the Titans have the Knights. If the Panthers and Titans win, they're on 28 and 27 points respectively. Then they play each other the next week, so one of them would guarantee a finals spot. If that's the Titans in a close one, we're basically gone because they're on 29 while the Panthers sit on 28 with a much superior points diff to us. We need the Panthers to win that game. The Panthers now have a significantly better points diff than us (50 odd, and also have the nothing to play for Sea Eagles in the last round) and you'd have to think that unless we belt the Tigers or Eels, which we've shown no signs of doing, it's lights out with 2 wins. The Tigers are probably gone with Teddy out, you're right, but I don't see them as the problem.

We're just asking for too much from other teams if we don't win all our last three. Next week is a must-win, as is the next, as is the next. To me, we have to get to 30 or it's early holidays for the fifth straight year. And I would argue this is the most disappointing of all of them - the one that hurts the most.

Titans have the point advantage and Panthers just got a great boost for points differential (both their game and ours). Now take a look at their runs home.

There's a fair to (very) good chance we need 3 wins.

I think we're basically relying on the Titans only winning one more. They've got the Panthers, Knights and Cowboys, you assume they'll beat the Knights but they could lose the other two. OR we win all three remaining games.

We aint making the 8 fellas, please don't entertain the thought, it might infect me.

This is just a carbon copy of recent years.

As long as Cappy is given the boot we salvage something out of this season.

Looking forward to Ivan coming back onboard.

Have to agree that he has been messed around unessecarily. Most NRL players (read 'most' not 'all') get the opportunity to play their preferred position in at least reserve grade if they are not getting a shot in the first team. Tui it seems hasn't really had that opportunity for about 2 years now?

For whatever reason, McFadden has deemed him a first choice pick in the top side. But just hasn't settled on where to play him.

My opinion is that he would of benefitted hugely from getting a regular stint in reserves, whether it be at fullback or five eighth. And when the opportunity arises, play him in the top team. In the same position.

My concern is that McFadden seems to be heading the same way with Fus. Shunting him all over the shop. And whilst Fus seems to be handling it ok for the moment, doesn't mean it will benefit him in the long run.

What about him? His hit on Willy Mason? Illegal as hell but I watch youtube clips of it two or three times a year to cheer me up when the warriors are crap or I just feel violent.

He's served about the best coaching apprenticeship there is to be had. Can he cut it as a first grade head coach though?

Kearney had the best coaching apprenticeship there was to be had too, but his NRL stint was pretty abysmal. No idea if Kidwell would cut it, but I wouldn't risk it. I'd cleary go someone proven.
