PERSISTING! Cappy was supposed to be axed in the first month of the NRL season but no. Doyle decided we persist with his shocking selections and substitutions and uselessness.

Cappy is like a crucifix, we are like Jesus. We carried our cross up that hill, we got whipped all the way and then Cappy crucified us.

Australia will be proud of how Cappy has carried out his role in making a promising Warriors side perform well below expectations.

On the field yes, but it was never about that, it was creating the illusion of stability for the next coach, that he she wouldn't be sacked mid season if team playing like shit.
Hopefully attracting a better coach.

What makes this worse is that I actually like him. I would say he is a genuine nice guy however he's not cut out at this level for the Warriors. Sorry Cappy, you're a good man, but not a good fit for us.

Off the top of my head I can recall the following saying good things this year about Cappy (current and former players) without it seeming forced: The Chad, Hoffman, Johnson, Lillyman, Ayshford, and i think i remember TL backing the coach too

It's only natural for players to have a good relationship with the coach so no surprises there. If he was a friendship coach then he's doing his job.

He's probably a very decent bloke and popular, but he's not a good coach, and this is not a good team. Something has to change

Here's the thing - it doesn't have to be 100% the coach's fault and not 100% the players' fault. It's a lot from column A and a lot from column B.

McFail needs to go because he has done so, so much wrong. 2.75 seasons in and he has no idea what his best side is. We've never looked like we have an identity as a side. Our CEO has harped on about accountability and top 8/6 performance, and we're going to end up 10th, or 11th if you go on wins. Shithouse. No improvement seen in his team, has to go.

Having said that, good luck coaching us. Trent Robinson is a premiership winning coach, who had a side with SBW and a lot of stars. If he'd ended up here, he might be an unemployed no-hoper with no future job prospects. That's how good we are at coach killing. The Stupid Six, I'm not sure that is attributable to malaise with our coach. If it is, it's still no excuse. The senior players should have known a lot, lot better. McClennan I'm certain cannot coach. Elliott, tried and failed. McFadden, he may go on to be okay. But he needs more time as an assistant under a good head coach, and unfortunately for him and us was thrown in way too early then extended by a muppet CEO. So you can sympathise for where he finds himself. He doesn't mean to be a shit coach, I'm sure he's a hard-working, good fella.

His constant shifting of player positions is really shocking for a established first grade coach. He literally does not allow his combinations to gel. One week Matulino starts the next he is benched, then he is starting , then is benched. Lets not even mention Tui, that guy has been sifted from pillar to post.

Ata a guy who has been playing exclusively at 6 for the last two or so years in the warriors system plays first grade at hooker. While Roach and Tevaga are in and out in and out. He carries outside backs on the reserve bench.

I swear that with this guy as coach if he remained in 2017 it truly would not surprise me if Jonno Wright would be back in the starting line up rd 1.

TBH I thought it really started to fall apart for us when Hingano was shifted to dummy half. Sence would have said to move him to standoff his natural position and move TL to dummy half. Playing a rookie at hooker who's played all of his footy in half/standoff...WTF
Fus shifted to the wing and Lolohea back to fullback. Watching some of the plays; it looked like neither player was aware of what was going on. To me that smacks of lack of communication or understanding.

Yeah, it's that sort of stuff that has (read, should) have guaranteed McFail's doom as coach. Honestly, we could start a thread called 'WTF McF' with all the insane selections, strategies, positional swaps etc. In fact someone should do that.
