Who replaces Cappy?

In the good ol days, the team as a whole lifted when something like that happened.

maybe its the further evolution of professionalism.. ?

Doesn't have to be. Look at the Raiders - they were absolutely shot on the weekend. 2 men on the bench from pretty early, stinking hot conditions and the limited interchange. They had no right to win that game. But they got it done at the death because they dug in and did it for each other. What did we do? Wilt, then made thinly-veiled excuses through the media, trying to pretend we were really in that game even though we had all that possession and one try to show for it.

Question?
During the Broncos game there was a tv shot of our coach's box.
Did I see Kevin Campion in there?

I was wondering this too, haven't been paying much attention this off season so I thought I must have missed some news about him.

Yeah I saw him as well. He handed out the game jerseys in the shed pre match and likely give them a bit of a pep talk. What I'd give to have another one of him running around for us at 13!!

Really? Then why did we get Elliott and then McFadden?

Two words. Wayne Scurrah.

After all these years of coaches being boned just after being backed by the Board/CEO, I dunno why the media even report that stuff. Just tell us when he says 'nah this guy McFadden is no good, better win f**kin quick or he's down to WINZ'

I would love to know how the so called "useless" coaches would have gone under a different management structure.

John Ackland and Bluey immediately spring to mind..

Penrose is right...Wayne Scurrah. He is also the reason why there aren't a lot of people who would like to coach the Warriors. The damage he did is going to take a lot of time and patience to recover from.

i think we need to give cappy the full season actually. The more I think about it and the more I ehar the counter argument that if we keep sacking coaches willy nilly, no one worth their salt will wanna come here unless we pay massive overs which in itself is unhealthy.

I'd give him the arse if he doesn't get us to week 2 of the finals or even a prelim. Top 8 isn't good enough imo.

Hopefully by then Wayne has won a comp with the broncos and wants a new challenge...

Hmmm...come game-day and I've got confused thoughts. I want Cappy to succeed in the long term as our coach, it would be a great, but well-worn, story overcoming adversary, etc.

However, if he's not going to succeed then there's no point him winning today.

I am sure we won't sack him without another coach coming straight in, none of this caretaker stuff.
Maybe Lance is back to throw his hat in the ring! :)

Ahhh, to heck with being confused, I hope we just get out there and beat the Storm good. Whatever happens after that is for another time.

How many more losses?

Win these next two at home and it might turn our season around, it'll definitely save the coach until he starts losing again. Lose the next two, or maybe even one, and I reckon he's gone.

It seems obvious that Cleary's the man to come in at such short notice, more than anyone he's ready to go. He also has unfinished business with us and his coaching career in general.

If we'd had three hidings this year Cappy might've been let go this week. We're playing OK footy, he deserves these two 'easier' upcoming games to build on that.

A brutal board meeting early this week will have a new coach by the end of it. I don't think we're that brutal anymore.

How many more losses? 1. If we lose against Newcastle, it's over for Cappy - surely. F***ing surely. You can't reside over 12 straight losses and stay in a job, his circumstances (injuries, squad) haven't been so bad as to mitigate those results. He's making poor selection decisions too, and if not removed soon will likely cost us two (at least) very handy players.

If Toovey won't take it immediately, I'd look at the Walkers - they're the kind of guys who could make a very immediate difference to a team. Wouldn't give them a contract beyond 2017 though (likely not an issue with them - if they're coming it's for an NRL shot, and their ethos has always been contract footy anyway). Ivan is there as an option beyond that, I guess.. as is someone I feel is probably being overlooked a little by fans/media but may be the most likely: Justin Morgan.

...If Toovey won't take it immediately...

Has Toovey given any inclination that he'd consider moving across the Tasman? People from Sydney's Northern Beaches don't even like crossing the Spit Bridge, let alone the Sydney Harbour Bridge, let alone 2000 kms of open sea beyond Botany...

Haha.. that doubt is why I bothered with the "if" ;) - he's got an actual career outside of football also, so might not be as keen to jump back in as others would.

Dunno if anyone has even put the question to him tbh (in public - surely by now the question would have been posed behind the scenes).

Today was better from the players.

What f**king game they thought they were playing is a mystery to me however.
