Yes I do. It is my view that Board members do not put a priority on winning the competition. To win you need a good experienced coach and we have seen over the past 3 seasons that the Board are satisfied with hiring rookies in the head coach position. The results we have earned are consistant and predictable with such poor policy.
The Board is also under-performing when it comes to off-field matters as well. Persistent rumours and reporting on the sorry state of the Club's finances indicate that the Board has also failed to meet their responsibilities with regards to the financial management of the Club.
I seriously believe dominant members of the Board are more concerned with protecting their employment longevity with spin and jargon rather than developing and implementing innovative measures to solve the Club's on-field and off-field problems.
100% agree with you Possum , you have summed up the whole setup well.
The warning bells were there at the start of the year when the club went to the NRL for an advance on their funds, hardly prudent business practice, spending money before it is generated is not a good way to do business.
Doust is of the age that he would have his retirement in his sights and I'm sure he would do anything to hang on to his well paid position to keep bolstering his super.I'm not sure what other board members receive remuneration wise but they wouldn't be doing it for nothing,i'm sure.
