A parramatta like revolution is needed. Club legends from both sides of the merger need to get together and figure out a way to sack the current board and replace doust with a Todd Greenberg type of CEO. What about the CEO of the wanderers?
They need an external CEO. Things will start happening then, everybody will be on notice.

Todd Greenberg?
This always gets me people want us to get a 'Greenberg type'.
What did he deliver?
Zero Premierships, that's what.
Spent heaps every chance he could, covered up and weasel talked through various crises, and now has slithered his way into a position he probably doesn't deserve. The Dogs have spent a fortune on De$$ie but do they have the Premmy yet?
No. And it won't happen this year either.

Totally agree, he is an absolute cancer to the game that slime ball. He has been found out so many times, but the NRL internalised the issues so as to avoid a self inflicted crisis.

At least Price had a decent success rate as a lower grade coach, served as assistant in a successful operation, and as an internal promotion you'd reasonably expect he'd be the best hope to maintain stable success. He was a fairly conservative choice and on paper not a bad one. It proved wrong of course.

Mary has none of that. He's not a conservative choice at all, he'd simply be a dumb choice.

nailed it!
At the time with Price's appointment you could understand the boards reasoning, the fact they persisted so long with this choice is another story. However McGregor has nothing on his CV of note....but plenty of examples of failure

apparently coaching the local Illawarra drunks to a premiership at the local footy oval in front of a few family members with the BBQ burning and the VB tinnies, are credentials for managing an NRL team.

Mary would most probably claim his input as assistan coach in a winning NSW Origin side to be his best effort on his CV.

I agree regarding Greenburg. Point I'm trying to make is that we need someone external.

As for the Bulldogs, don't worry too much about them, they will get their 'premmy' soon. Teams like the Bulldogs, Manly and Brisbane, usually win a 'premmy' every 10 or so years. I'd like to think the Dragons were working their way towards that sort of standard after we won in 2010.
It's not rocket science. Want to be successful? Do what the successful clubs are doing. And don't give me the 'we don't have money' line, because Manly aren't exactly flushed with funds either. No more excuses.

Disagree. Unless there are substantial changes in the coming years, I cant see the dogs getting the big one.

Funny how the Dogs under Greenberg changed their logo from a mean looking mongrel to a happy little pup to change the perception of their grubby fans and image, and Penrith and Tigers logo's are of mean looking mongrels

No so sure about that. Apparently he still does some work for the Saints in England and Mike Cooper was a Browny recommendation. He has not completely cut his ties with the club. Anything is possible.

yes he did recommend Cooper.
no he isn't officially working for the club.

If Brown comes back i will put NRL on hold until he's gone again, and follow another sport.

I would love to have brown back as he is more than ready to be a first grade coach. The side he had when we choked was over rated and brown was a kid learning.

How can you call a team made up of these players in their prime overrated?

BAILEY Luke
BARRETT Trent
BEST Colin
ENNIS Michael
COOPER Matt
CREAGH Ben
GASNIER Mark
HORNBY Ben
POORE Justin
RYLES Jason
THOMPSON Lance
TIMMINS Shaun
YOUNG Dean

They choked...simple as that

At least with Brown, you could see a clear succession plan with a generation of juniors flowing throw to first grade. He learnt same under Brian Smith.

- 1990's: Brown, Tallis, Stevens, Mundine
- 2000's: Bailey, Ryles, Gasnier, Cooper, Hornby
- 2010 - ?
Is there a next 'generation' coming through the grades? Are they coming through at the same time, like previous generations?

The problem with a lot of those class players from the Brown era was that they were big time origin players and were inconsistent club level players. Gasnier was consistently brilliant at club level, then you have consistency from Bailey, Cooper but the rest were hot and cold during the premiership rounds.

Thats why i said it was a over rated team.

I don't think they were overrated, if anything, they were poorly coached. Brown had a great side on paper, but they never played all that well as a team. One week Barrett would play well, but Ryles would have a shocker...the next week Young and Timmins would play well, but Barrett would have a shocker.

I watched some highlights of the 05 preliminary final against the Tigers and some of the defence in that game was a disgrace considering what was at stake. They didn't deserve to be in a GF with defence like that. Poor structures and poor attitude.
