CQ makes no sense what so ever, see Sharks problems and multiply for Rockhampton!

Next Q'land team has to be in Brisbane and playing out of Suncorp. They need to be a regional name (ie South Q'land!) and tap into the fan base that does not support the Broncos, there needs to be a real differential between the Broncos and new team. The reason the Dockers were able to do so well in Perth was they linked to an area (Fremantle but marketed to the whole Southern suburbs and fostered the North/South of the river mentality) and marketed themselves as the "working class" team whilst bigging up the Eagles as the silvertails. Something similiar in Brisbane could and should work.

CQ Sea Eagles is the only way thy are ever likely to get team!

We can get funding for 25k stadia for a team that doesn't exist yet in CQ but we still can't get a decent one in Sydney.

The South Queensland Dolphins playing out of Suncorp Stadium and backed by the Redcliffe Leagues club is the way to go. They could play their trials out of Dolphin Oval (Redcliffe).

If CQ get a gig before ,

Perth
Wellington
2nd Brisbane
Adelaide
Central coast

I'll dead set give up.

I like that they are keen to get in , but we need to go where the people are. The sport needs more money!

I would have a team from Ispwich in as the 2nd Brisbane team, growing areas, plenty of polys to fill the team, heaps of strong clubs as feeders, Jets, brothers, Goodna
would definately hae a cross town rivalry and the fibros vs silvertails as well and would steal a sh*t load of supporters away from broncos to boot

but.. not sure how ppl woudl respond to that.. seeing Redcliffe is a northern club.. Do we have to have one in South QLD? Is that what the best choice for Brisbane is? It does seem so.. if thats the case..

Could you just Promote the Ipswich Jets instead of Redcliffe?

Where would these Ipswich/Logan teams play? Suncorp? Meakin Park?

no I would play them out of Ispwich first untill we got promises of a new stadium, then perhaps to suncorp while it was being built.

perhaps Maha Sinathamby could put up the funds to build it

I'm still not sold on a particular form of a 2nd brisbane team, but I know we need one.

Do we all agree that Suncorp should be the venue?

yep, insane that the best club RL stadium in the country only has one game a fortnight played in it. Why would you spend $'s on another stadium when Suncorp sits empty (RL wise) so much of the time?

Meakin Park is owned by Queensland Rugby Union now so that is unlikely.

Broncos are really more a central/north Brisbane team.

I'd like a second team in Brisbane that represents the outer suburbs maybe called Greater Brisbane Brothers.

it must be.

Its a crime that suncorp is used so rarely.

Not only that it would be an outrageous burden on the tax payers of queensland to ask them to fund another sradium when they have built 4 high quality stadiums in SEQ in the last 10 years.

Glad ronnie speaks for all of us, I dont agree, if you get a team in the west a venue in the west would be best, I would think more people would go if they kept it locak instead of having to train it into the city,
same happened with the soccer, roar should play out of Richlands they would get heeps bigger crowds

Ipswich or Redcliffe would be the best place for a 2nd brisbane team.

Redcliffe would essentially represent outer north brisbane up through caboolture and the sunshine coast.

Ipswich is a fast growing area for young families and i know the QLD government has a lot of plans to grow and market that area.

Logan and Wynnum are other areas that could maybe be considered although the titans arent that far away.....

Absolutely +1.

The team must be named "Brisbane" or "South QLD" only.

To call the team Ipswich or Redcliffe alienates anyone else in the greater Brisbane area from supporting them.

what is it with RL fans and having to travel 1/2 hour to get to a game?

Fremantle could easily have played out of Freo oval with some serious money spent on it but it would make no sense as they are marketing to a much broader audience than just people who live in one suburb. Same should be true of any Sth Queensland team, they need to represent 10+ suburns to have a catchment that will sustain them against the might of the Broncos.

Rubbish.

It couldn't be easier to get to Suncorp with the northern, south east and eastern Busways and the railway station at Roma Street.
