Yeah I do want it on record that I don't want to lose guys like Feliti or Fui. I suppose something has to give.

At the moment, I suppose my mindset is that I've had a bit of a gutful trying to develop a halfback giving them some space to "flower" or buying one past their best and in the twilight of their careers since Sterlo.

I want the marquee.

Actually I want it ALL...ALL OF IT!!!!

If it came down to keeping Mateo or signning Thurston I would chose Mateo. IMO Mateo at his best is in the top 5 players in the world (along with guys like Thurston, Prince, Hayne and Inglus) and would command alot less money than Thurston.

Make room for both of them! ;-)

I'm coming around Jess getting more tolerant in my older age. Only Benny and Lowrie annoy me now.
I'm glad you saw what i was trying to say and didn't take too much offence. We all like different aspects of the game - and i've got no problem with people wanting JT at the club, as long as they don't badger me for not wanting him here

We have learnt to compromise Avenger, i feel so grown up right now! :D

I dont want Thurston, especially at that sort of $$$
Would be my most disliked Eel #7 since Freeman.
 My Dad (who has been a Seas Ticket holder since the ground opened and an Eels fan since birth) actually said to me last night that he would seriously consider not watching them if "that rat was the halfback"
Pretty passionate stuff there!

I heard a rumour we were sniffing around another Far NQ half who has had his far share of off field dramas in the past..... but I thought he already had a club next year. Maybe the incoming coach thinks he has been down that road before and its all too much trouble.

One thing for sure the ol' rumour mill really is in overdrive.

Who would that be? The only one that springs to my mind is Brett Firman!!

You guys cry about it and ill happy sit here with the Best half in the world at Parra.

An entire bay heckled him non stop a few weeks ago for being a cat and a diver amongst other things. Many forumers sit there and were leading the chorus so excuse us for showing a little bit of discomfort with the concept.

i think he and rob jeffson would make a formidable halves combo, thurston will have to play 5/8 cuz well rob has a stranglehold on the 7!

he would be a fantastic signing the more hated players we sign the better

I would bet any dollar I could find that if he pulled out one of his show and go's, scored in the corner and potted it from the sideline winning a GF for the Eels in a man of the match performance then that heckling would be a thing of the past.

I would cheer the GF win but always have that pain of disapointment that it was that douchebag who won it for us...

I'm torn with Thurston ... I'd love a halfback with his ability - BUT the guy is one of the biggest knobs in rugby league, so I'd struggle to enjoy him at parra.

or kicked a guy in the head while scoring and gave away a penalty try and we lost by 2 points.

Alright guys ... you prob need to ease up because you are starting to sh*t me.
Unless Thurston pulled his head in and changed (alot of) his ways, i and others would struggle to support him. End of Story.

The more you tell us that we would be 'all over him' the second he got to Parra, the more you imply we don't stick to our word...
