One from left field. Pirramimma '04 White Label Tannat. Very interesting, particularly since this is the first time I've had Tannat (on a run of trying different varietals as opposed to brands / regions). Deep purple, well structured wine. Inky on the palate, with vibrant stone fruit flavours and fine tannins.

Very good wine. Might get another bottle and put it away for a while.

Love Tannat...got a bottle of Moss Wood pinot that was opened last night (not by me). Gonna give that a try, see if it's going well.

Also, Windy Peak pinot is a very handy quaffer, but for a few bucks more the Gulf Station is a cracker IMO, well worth trying too

This Moss Wood is good. Can see why my brother didn't like it, he's not much of a wine drinker and tends to like the younger, fruitier stuff. Which this is not. There's plenty of fruit, of course, but loads of almost charry oak and mushroomy, resiny characters. Which I do like, so yay me

Angels Share, the McLaren Vale shiraz. It's a pretty big wine, also really good. I prefer the Gnarly Dudes myself, but they're both very nice.

The Brave Faces GSM is excellent as well

I've recently been OS and enjoying a few US Pinots. They are amazing, couldn't rate them highly enough. If you see a red from the willamette valley buy it

Looking closer....pepperjack is my favourite local. Awesome drop

I didn't even know Bests did a straight Pinot Meunier...it's a grape I love, personally. I picked up a few in the King Valley

2008 Waterwheel Memsie shiraz malbec cabernet....still my favourite wine $10 and under, such a shame they went to straight shiraz. It's only getting better too, bigger and blacker as the malbec bullies the shiraz out of the way. Will be a sad day when I drink the last one, thankfully I bought about 4 doz :p

Government plans to tax alcohol by the unit rather than by the current system. Hence goon being expensive.

Nothing confirmed yet, but with this govt nothing would surprise me.
