It definitely wasn't awful, but I'd heard some praise so thought it would be a little better.

Nothing worse than when someone builds a wine up. You try it and are disappointed. Bit of a let down really, then again having expectations often leads to exactly that.

2012 Ravensworth Shiraz Viognier. Ripping value, really complex and delicious. Smells awesome, turkish delight and raspberry and pepper and spice.

Mollydooker "The Boxer" 2011 Shiraz. Big blackberry flavours and just the right kick of spice. Enjoying it quite a bit!

DR Loosen Bros 2011 Riesling. Because the only thing better than drinking a bottle with friends is cracking another after they leave.

Really enjoying it btw, nice and dry with a pleasant apple flavour.

Belgravia, Angullong, Printhie, Bloodwood and Phillip Shaw are very good....I think the restaurant you're thinking of is Lolli Redini. Union Bank is also very nice.

2012 Eden Road Off-Dry Riesling. Might be pushing the very edge of off dry...pushes into sweet but the acid and minerality is nice. It's a lot like a German Kabinett I reckon. I like it

d'Arenberg "The Noble Wrinkled" Riesling. A boytritis, late harvest Riesling that is significantly less sweet than the name suggests. It drinks really well, would go very well with very sharp cheese or a high quality affogardo.

Reschke Vitulus Cab Sauv 09. The 08 was a vintage that was going to need a tonne of time in bottle or a minimum 12 hour decant to make it approachable, so tight and stringent were the tannins. A great drink though. The 09 is a far more approachable wine, more rounded tannins but with the same Black Forest flavours. Another winner from these guys.
