I got some 2001 somewhere as well, but I can probably get another bottle of 2000. I will bring it to our meet up. Same with the Last Horizon.

Some time in early Jan?

The Pinot Noir is better decanted, BTW. Not as in your face once its aired for a 12 or so hours.

Signed up, can't wait to get some more info on the "lesser known" regions of Australia (Hilltops, Great Southern, etc) and possibly even sub regions (Polish River, Tamar Valley, etc)

I was actually thinking of doing a piece on Great Southern and Frankland in honour of the Perth Test!

Try Barwang GDR - Hilltops Cab Sauv. A $75 selling for $45. Well layered and quite brilliant.

For me, 2008 Seppelt Drumborg Pinot Noir. I actually think this might be ever so slightly past it. It's still nice, but it's gone into a bit more dried fruits and a little more leather and tobacco than I would normally associate with a pinot...glad I'm drinking it now, wouldn't have wanted to keep it much longer

Very delicious. Tannins are very fine, and still a fair whack of fruit, finishing with a good whack of leather and cigar box. Also a very light vanilla note. Dark red, but with brick red edges.

2010 Heirloom Vineyards Pinot. I got a dozen of these online for like 100 bucks, supposedly down from 500. Normally I don't go for those obvious online deals where they sell something worth nothing at a ridiculous fake discount, but I grabbed this because it was made by Elena Brooks which is always a good thing. First bottle I had two years ago was very young but it's really paying off now. Excellent pinot IMO, luscious fruit, great savoury character and really good acid. Maybe a little light in the body but Adelaide Hills tends to be...

Pinched a bottle of Brown Brothers Orange Muscat and Flora off mum. Shit is badass. I've also had some Boritis Silmarillion (?) before, and it was sick as well.

What are some rad wines that are like these fellas? Dessert wines, sweet as anything is my jam.
