So this is DMD's latest offer

Simply purchase any 6 of the following legendary reds for $170, and you'll receive a bonus bottle of Saltram No.1 Shiraz – valued at $73.99^!

Select from:

Wolf Blass Grey Label Shiraz#
Wolf Blass Grey Label Cabernet Shiraz#
Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon#
Wynns Black Label Shiraz#
Penfolds Bin 2 Shiraz Mourvèdre#

I'm half temped.

How much would this actually be worth and is the Saltram Shiraz any good.

The Saltram is bloody good booze. Its actual RRP is $100 TBH. Do they let you mix and match i.e. get 2 bottles of Black Labe, 2 bottles of Bin 2?

Black Label shiraz is $30, Cabernet is $28
Grey Shiraz is $35, Cab Shiraz is $30.
Bing 2 is $29.

All have points, and I think are above 93 from memory.

It's a good deal. The Number One is a monster Shiraz. I don't rate Saltrams wines at all personally but I'm tempted, purely because it's nice to have a big red around it's the wynns stuff is always good.

Looking forward to it. Factor, Descendant and Gask fruit went into the '11. Although right now I find it hard to believe it would be better than this Coonawarra.....wow

So after some time, the Petaluma was astoundingly good. Cab merlot with a splash of shiraz and petit verdot. Rich, full bodied, merlot fills the gaps perfectly, mint, berries, chocolate, cassis, tobacco...just ages of complexity

well I lashed out and doubled up on the Wynns Shiraz to round out the 6, I'll give the Saltrans Shiraz a nudge tonight.

I'm hoping it lasts me a few weeks but we'll see how we go, not used to having decent wine in the rack. I always reckon you buy it to drink it, not to look at it.

Agree in principle; which is why I buy two bottles if I can. One to drink, one to age.

well I can highly recommend that Saltrans Shiraz, amazing stuff but I guess you'd expect that for the price

a nice way to top off the prawn balls in chili sauce and the deep fried reef cod

One thing I noticed on the label that I have never seen before, brewed in 2009 but bottled in 2011
