I agree. It was originally an excess parcel that they had no idea what to do with. They bottled it under that label, and it won about 5 golds / trophy's and they worked out it was something the should continue with.

Ended up making it a Cellar Door exclusive these days, but it was in independents for a long while.

First Drop Mothers Milk Shiraz 14. New vintage, same top quality Barossa Shiraz. Made in a more "Syrah" style, but still with the full palate you expect from the Barossa Valley.

St Clair Family Estate Premium Pinot Gris '14. An unfortunately simple Pinot Gris, nectarine the main flavour profile before a lightning quick finish. Many better options available at the same price, if not cheaper.

I tend to find Pig is disappointing more times than not. ADHL is often ok, and Yarra is alright too, but Marlborough is stinky.

2013 Mt Majura "Molli"

A blend of Riesling and Pinot Gris. Wild fermentation, lees contact, French oak. Ridiculously nice wine imo. The steely backbone of Riesling with depth from the Gris, honeysuckle and pear, orange peel, oak on the finish....

Mudgee wines are shit. Tasted a Dubbo wine today too; hot climate horse urine.

Best I've had is a sangiovese in Mudgee on Friday. If the growers there were smart, they'd pull everything up and plant only sangio, temp and grenache. This hit climate semillon rubbish is awful.

Most of the good Mudgee wines I've had have been made by winemakers based outside Mudgee.

I know you two were sweating on the Ravensworth Gamay Noir thoughts. Tastes like raspberry, cherry, rose, forest floor, a lick of spice and a healthy heaping of delirious happiness. I think the bottle lasted about 30 mins. Wicked, wicked wine

2013 Coldstream Hills The Hills Chardonnay. Really lean. Very Maconnais, which I like. Slate, citrus, quite sharply acidic, very little oak. Not shabby at all

2013 Some Young Punks A Catch In Time Chardonnay. Interesting to have them side by side. This is more opulent, but from the wild ferment and the lees contact rather than oak. Still very lean on the finish. Probably the better wine of the two

Some Young Punks rock and if you ever see their reds I highly recommend every single one

All over SA. The winery is based in the Clare Valley but they grow fruit in the Clare, McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills, Eden Valley and Barossa.
