Yeah he would be asking for 200k+ now but whether he was on that before is another thing.

Apparently we signned shack for 170 so i dont think cuthbo will be looking able to get too much over 120 - 140 on the open market. He has not played a game in 6 weeks atm so he is not even assured a first grade spot atm. Teams that pay 120+ for jnrs normally end up getting burnt and with the alot of teams having most of their money tied up for nexst year already there isn't alot of teams looking to make big purchases atm.

Tigers are in search for a half and some outside backs
Cronulla in search for a staring prop and prob a few outside backs

outside these two teams not many teams are very active in the market. Dragons couldnt offer Poore more than 250 and may loss Morris, Roosters couldnt beat our offer on shack and trying to offload players to make room, titans have just tied up tomane and not really looking for anyone else.

we are said to have paid shack 170 but i would bet it was more than that...
cuthbo would get 200k on the market.
considering the amount we have dished out for weller and co.....

The shack is still very un tested....

shack played c-c, cuthbo as far as im aware is yet to represent but i doubt DA will be willing to pay overs... he will set his limit and probably contrast it to playing with a rising team then staying with a falling team.

Weller contract was made up by hagan and not DA who was apparently mortified at what some players were being paid like Weller and Lowire.

i am pretty sure cuthbo was selected and ruled out..... then the shack came in to replace him!!

cuthbo is not a player we need or want.....

we need either:
a tough head 2nd rower who unleashes on opposite players
or
another prop, one who can make hit up after hit up after hit up

we already have Mateo, Cayless, Mannah, who can all offload...

Throw the cash at a M.Paea or someone like that, thats impact
off the bench, at a much cheaper price

(1) Now the Dragons lost Poore why the hell would they give up Paea?

(2) How many Premierships have Paea, Cayless, Mateo (over-rated I should say) won? More so lately?

You're kidding if you think a young forward from a Premiership-winning culture wouldn't help this team.

Personally, I think Lopini Paea is the better player then Mickey. Lopini is like Fui Fui, probably just not as good.

I think now we are ok with the front row with poor coming. We probably need to strengthen our halves and centers but most of all the bench. Next year it looks like we will have good forward depth on the bench, but we are really lacking a utility.

when fit (or as fit as someone of his shape can be) i think cuthbertson is a very talented player. i think the club should make some enquiries if they haven't already.

ATM Cuthbert only averages about 35 mins a game, if he wants to be on around 200k per season he should lose the weight and play some more minutes. Because he has the talent.

Sorry to burst the Armit bubble guys, but he re-signed with Canterbury for 2 years about a week or two ago.
