So when is Netball Australia going to set up a national mens comp?
Not sure that's a good idea, I watched a men's game while waiting for my daughter at training many years ago . . . they play way too nasty

They should think outside the box and include an PNG so they can set up a meaning tri nations series that might actually make some revenue since in all likely hood the NRLW probably wont, even if it is still worthwhile as a loss leader.

Of course you couldn't base them in PNG but they could set up camp for a few months like the Hunters do in Townsville or Cairns or anywhere in Qld. Could probably get PNG gov or Aus gov through Ausaid or PNG mining companies to kick in some dough and use it a campaign against the high domestic and sexual violence rates in PNG

Sorry that was unclear, The Hunters set up camp in PNG, basically have a residential compound.

A woman's team could do the same but based in Qld given that the season seems like it will only run for about a month

I know travel costs may be an issue with my club list but I think if they are all Sydney clubs then you are not helping the game grow nationally and internationally:

Warriors (to help the NZ National team stay strong)
Broncos
Newcastle
Eels
Dogs
Panthers

Then needs to expand to include all NRL clubs within a few seasons plus the state leagues should have women's teams also.

I don't think travel costs will be an issue, I would expect the NRL will cover it, as they do for the Men's.

Newcastle would have to be a sure bet to have a team - we already have one, they made the grand final last season.

For mine, you'd use this WNRL as an opportunity to almost start fresh and not over-saturate the comp with Sydney teams. I know in a few years, all NRL clubs will be encouraged to have submitted a WNRL team so we'll be in the same situation as we're in now with the NRL, but to start off with, I'd like to see the comp spread out to look something like this for 2018:

* Newcastle (strong League area, great support, already a few players in the Jillaroos team, North Newcastle having been in the GF)
* NZ Warriors (would have most of the KiwiFerns players available, therefore would be extremely strong)
* Brisbane (strong League area, presumably would have a few Jillaroos players from Qld?)
* Cronulla (famously the first NRL club to sign womens players to contracts)
* Parra or Penrith (western Sydney stronghold for League)
* Melbourne (kind of a 'dot on the map' kinda things, but would provide the Victorians with a better option than womens AFL!)

Lol gotta love these bozos who even want the NSW over-saturation to continue in a brand new comp.

I love the idea of a women's league in concept, I would watch it, but I can't shake this feeling I have that the NRL really shouldn't be launching another competition when their primary one is in such bad shape to begin with.

I doubt anyone would argue things are going swimmingly with the NRL competition at the moment but "such bad shape"? f**k you're a drama queen.
