ysterday our forwards were bashed out the 1st half except for ellis and nothing much changed in the 2nd luckily our backs turned up now when DL is in the team there is a perception that he is getting caught out around the ruck , well guess what we are still leaking big yards around the ruck area so where does that leave DL.the same silly penalties are still being given by gibbs payne and co. yet there is no talk of discipline problems no impact in attack (except maybe a cheap try from dummy half payne couple of weeks ago) no aggression from forwards except ellis...where does that leave DL at the moment our back are on fire so forwards you better pull your dummy out of your mouths because we have got our biggest weapon waiting on the bench while you guys are hidin behind our backs and GE...

If I had a say I would bring big Dane back for this game against the Sharks and give Skando a rest.

I think Skando will be very important for us in the run home and I would imagine a week off to refresh his body would benefit from a rest.

It would also give Dane one last chance to show that he should be in the team before the whips start cracking.

100% agree. Dane would be on my bench every week - as I'm sure he will be for the Dragons or whoever he signs with next year.

yeah this talent is being wasted maybe its not all about football but finances less game time for dane means less bargaining power downgrading his worth in a similar tactic that was being used on gallant....

Have you guys seen how he is performing in reserve grade?

NRL is a long way away for Daine at the moment.

Yeah from what i seen in the West V Jets game he certainly wasnt busting his arse to get back in the NRL. More a morale issue than an abilty one but if he is as good as he thinks his pay cheque should be he should be taking every oppurtunity he has to show it.

true but even when he has killed it on the field hes found himself out of the squad the very next week i would be getting down to running around in a comp thats not going to bring my standard of play up to fulltime nrl standard while we have players in the first up team with obviously less talent but, who seem to be favourites of the coach...

We've won 6 straight - I think Laurie only played in one of those victories. At the minute, there's no point throwing him out there when his fitness and acumen aren't up to scratch. I agree he has a lot more potential than some of the guys running around, but he has made some enormous blunders when given the opportunity and unfortunately, he hasn't proved he deserves a consistent spot in the team.

" enormouse blunders " i can think of only 1 and that was dropping the ball with the line wide open and maybe a penalty here and there but his contribution in attack and defence is lot greater than bryce gibbs who gives away lot more penalties and is a lot less effective in attack and who hits like a bag of marshmallows and has no intimidation imo no forward in the NRL fears bryce ...I dont think the same can be said about DL

Laurie dropped the ball with the line open against Melbourne. Than gave away a silly penalty and leant against the goalpost giving that f**king nuffy Cross a hole to run at and score.

He is a pointless sh*t of a player until he gets a real off-season under his belt

I'd love for Laurie to develop some footballing skills (rather than just being 110kgs of predator-looking power) but he shouldn't be considered a replacement for Gibbs. Laurie should be a bench player and developed as such. Just like Fui Fui was. Give him small spells (15-20 minutes) and he'll develop. We're fit enough to handle it.

so he was dropped for essentially taking bereavement leave.

Nice to see we care for the players when it matters most.

I read he had a sick day from training and notified the lower grade coach. Sheens didn't believe it was genuine and asked for a medical certificate which Laurie provided. Sheens still wasn't happy apparently and Laurie hasn't played for however long.

if this is the attitude of sheens it stinks he is just an idiot power freak who thought he caught the big fella out and couldnt swallow his pride and accept this situation as genuine, think of all the games & players we have lost over the last 4 yrs because of this mans ego . we have talent oozing out this club for years but because of his ego we have sweet F.A to show for it.so this week it looks like tim will have to grovel but will he???

I guess no one knows whether he was genuinely ill, and a medical certificate can be obtained as easily as buying todays newspaper, but Sheens may be crucifying the guy on an assumption...
