w...t...f. Weird episode. This would have been an awesome episode of the Muppets, but it made a mockery of raw. The only good moment was when Santino Marella called Johnny Ace, "John Larangitis"

Another crappy edition.

I know John Cena and Awesome Truth are involved in the main event of one of your biggest show but that doesn't mean every edition of Raw should be centred around them. This episode should have been centred on Punk/Del Rio where as Cena/Awesome Truth should have been the B or C story. It's simple television writing, yet the WWE fails to comply.

Morrison/Ziggler - Good tv opener but both guys needed a win on tonight's show. How about putting Ziggler over Cena (who can be managed by Ryder) in the opening segment thanks to Awesome Truth. Later on, you can then have Cena avenge the loss by helping Morrison defeat Truth.

The next 3 matches were squash matches which put Mason Ryan, Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger over. First off, way too many squashes but more importantly, you had enough time to use Mason Ryan but couldn't use a superstar you've been advertising for months? Ah what? Since I hate people who complain but fail to submit their own ideas, this is what I'd do...

Alberto Del Rio would be involved in a tag team title match with Ricardo Rodriguez against Kofi Kingston and replacement partner...CM Punk. Punk and Kingston win to send the Brits home happy...until Nash interferes and attacks Punk and I'll explain this later. I'd save Mason Ryan and Jack Swagger for Smackdown where you can start building some kind of storyline for Survivor Series. Brodus Clay can have his squash match.

Nash promo was 'meh'. I would have re-tooled it, had a pre-packaged sit down interview where he explains his actions. I also would have brought up the likes of Punk and the UK, both of which he can bury. Then he comes out, interferes after Kingston and Punk win and tells Punk they have a match next week, to end the show.

At least something better than a by-the-numbers Raw which this turned out to be.

J-Mo got a new shirt and a new shirt = a win. Probably means a push rather than a release now.

Ryder is with Cena because the WWE will use anyone they can to boost his popularity even though it hurts them.

Punk doesn't get the push he deserves because he isn't a McMahon creation.

Truth actually manages to be entertaining on the mic yet they let Miz put everyone to sleep.

Is Nash even going to have a match against Triple H at Survivor Series? If not what was the point.

And the standard of matches was horrible even by the low standards of the WWE.

I'd say it's the other way round with Cena and Ryder. Cena's been pushing for Ryder publicly as soon as Zack started his YouTube channel and would include him in throw-away segments despite Kevin Dunn's objections. He's good with the mid-carders Cena, I believe he was vocal about DB's firing and helped brought him back last year.

The Miz is good on the mic. and plays the straight guy well. It balances out Truth and they have nice chemistry.

Kevin Dunn lives in his own reality. Cornette burying Dunn http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGzSNXmRITc

Cena equals exposure for Ryder but it also hurts his popularity. That is not the concern though, getting Cena a rub is. Cena sticking up for Dragon was just his way of getting another cheap rub from the people that hate him. He was always going to be rehired or I doubt we would have heard boo out of Cena.

The Miz sucks and his over acting and catch phrases are cringe worthy. Truth has really shined even in an over produced PG environment.

Judging by everything I've heard on Cena, I doubt it's politics. He seems to be genuinely interested in helping the younger talent out. Just like The Rock did.

I don't care for catchphrases, but he's gotten them over judging by the constant crowd response. He's cut plenty of good promos in his time and even fooled everybody by carrying Morrison and having people believe he had skills on the mic.

You hear the same bullshit about Take but who was the biggest JBL enabler in the company?

Cena appears to be a decent guy (bit of an ego but that goes with the territory) but he's a company whore and everyone knows it.

If you say a catch phrase enough it get's over. Fans just like to be involved in the show and it gives them an opportunity. ADR even got one over no problem and he gets no reaction otherwise.

I doubt you'd truly know the answer to your own question given how much interest you allegedly don't have in the company. I haven't heard anything about Taker and JBL, if anything JBL seemed a lot closer to Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio.

A lot of catchphrases fail to get over and wrestlers will just give up on them. The Miz didn't fail.

Considering his power and position, Cena has sacrificed a lot of his own worth to put over talent. I'd understand your stance if he had a history that would support it (like say Nash, Hogan, HBK, HHH etc.) but nothing has come up.

Since you continue to bring this up I will address it.

As a wrestling fan I have a vested interest in the state of the industry. As much as I would like to one can't divorce themselves from the WWE.

Now the product itself that the WWE puts out is unwatchable but I have a vested interest with wrestlers who I support so I try and follow them. My interest is to see these guys do well. So I read spoilers or fast forward through most of the show if I bother to watch it.

If the WWE only used homegrown talent I wouldn't follow it at all.

Which is my point.

You relentlessly advertise how much you don't care about the product, yet somehow you know all the intimate backstage workings of workers you apparently don't care for.

But I digress.

3 Hour edition of Raw next week for the return of The Rock. WWE will be hoping it's a big show.

If I sat with my eyes glued to four hours of "sports entertainment" each week how would I have any idea of the backstage workings?

I've been following wrestling for a long time and I've listened to my fair share of shoot interviews and read the forums like anyone else.

I wouldn't buy 90% of what I read on forums in regards to wrestling.

Most of it is always based on conjecture.

The WWE is overdoing it. The rocks return pre mania was epic, but since then it has stubled along here and there. Cena again versing the biggest heels in the company just to keep him out of the title picture long enough for punk to have his push. Its telegraphed worse than Cenas 5 superman moves.
But f**k it I love the rock, cant wait for survivor series

didn't catch all of raw (thank god), suffice it to say that it was very flat and very VERY boring.

is anyone else underwhelmed by the rock?

I am.

But that isn't his fault. The WWE knew the score before they went out of their way to sign him and they've ensured that every Rock appearance has been some bland circle jerk over him. As far as storylines go, he's had little impact and while Cena/Rock is a good match up the feud sucks. Cena needs to turn heel on Rock at Survivor Series and in a big way.

oh yes i agree, it certainly isn't his fault, and i'm sure he really doesn't care, he comes back for the odd night here and there, makes a bit of bank, ratings and ticket sales go up for a week to keep Vince happy, and the earth keeps on spinning as it should.

Could be like the WWE Title match between CM Punk and John Cena this year in Chicago. CM Punk went into the match as the heel, but since it was his home town he got cheered.

that 20 minute jerk off to cena was really bad. only good parts was the crowd booing the whole time and the end.
