We've signed Borini from Roma [ur]http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18823096[/url] Was he meant to be the exciting signing that BR was talking about, because he seems a good talented professional young play but it doesn't fill me with too much excitement.

FYI fellow Reds; our first trial of the season and Rodgers' first game as coach against Toronto is being broadcast live by Setanta at 6am tomorrow. If you can't IQ it, they'll be replaying it throughout the day.

Hopefully come December, Rogers has implemented his "style" of football and we are playing like Roma were this morning. I thought Shelvey looked okay. Cole hasn't completely lost it either.

Keep in mind that was Roma's fourth pre-season game and only Liverpool's second, so Roma are slightly ahead in preparation.

In saying that I was quite impressed with Roma, aside from our fullbacks who are terrible (but everyone already knew that).

Three signings still to come, and at least two of them will be fullbacks so we look in decent shape.

So whats the go with Allen
He going to be another overpriced Brit or does he actually have some potential?
I really didn't watch Swansea last season

More keen to hear hybrid's thoughts on Borini. Don't really watch the Serie A so have no idea what biriji's like?

Watched a bit of him last season and to me....he is a player who will do the job Lucas has been doing for us. Break's up opposition play and does so well. I reckon the signs are not good for Lucas if he does come. What he will bring though in that role (if he does come) is more energy.

As for Borini. Only time will tell. Seems to be a non-flashy player who knows where the goal is.......sometimes its all you need. Saying that though, after yesterdays game........looks like Rodgers may not exactly play him "up-front".

He's a good young player, but his best attributes are his immense work ethic and off the ball work.

He?s not exactly a clinical finisher, but nine goals in a tough environment in Rome last season is certainly nothing to sniff at (second highest after Osvaldo with 11). His movement creates plenty of issues for opposition defenders. His pressing is invaluable and he is pretty strong despite not possessing a huge frame.

He's not very skillful, but will run until the cows come home. His passing, crossing and final ball needs work but he will only improve.

The best description I can think of is a younger, faster version of Dirk Kuyt.

lol was going to say he sounds like Kuyt till I read the last line
Would have prefered a proven EPL goal scorer but I'll wait and see what he can do

What do you guys reckon will happen with the likes of Stirling and even Suso? Another year in the reserves/youths? Saying that, are they even good enough to make the bench?

Haven't really seen them play.
A loan move out is always good for development but if Rogers thinks one or more are ready to step up then keep those players on. Can always play them in a European game to see how they handle a competitive match or a domestic cup game.
Interested to hear the opinion on some of them from a person who has seen them in action.

Have watched a lot of Stirling in the past two years ever since he burst onto the scene. No doubt he is one of the quickest/most skillful young players in England right now and should go on to be a more than decent "wing" (I hope I have not put the curse in him). He probably go more game time than he bargained for last night with Cole coming off that early. Lets see if he keeps making the bench the next few games. My only issue is his size.

As for Suso, the chances of him staying seem to dwindle daily. He is the type of player Rogers would (should) want to play Barca-type football.

Suarez is great for the PL.

No one has ever united 19 supporter bases like he has.
