Thats the most absurd shit I've heard.

Why would one intentionally produce shit work and not care about it, thus running the risk of losing their paying job just because some dickheads on facebook and the like don't source it?

I can see the point you are trying to make, but I can only see it as being utter nonsense that may apply to about 1% of all paid journo's.

Didn't say anything about intentionally producing shit work, more that they'd be less inclined to put effort, research etc when their work is underappreciated and reproduced in other places.

I guess the other reason the practice shits me is because these FB pages get thousands of likes on the back of blatant plagiarism while the ones who bring news honestly via official channels or their own work generally don't get the same.

It's crazy.

They are getting paid irrespective of that. Good journo's wouldn't produce poorer work because its being ripped off.

I agree with you on this, it's utterly f**ked.

Do facebook pages get money for likes or something?
People quote things all the time. They aren't getting paid or anything and usually the people who like it know what it's from. I'd understand if they were using it in a published work or something where they would actually get the credit for it. I hardly think Massoud would care too much. I see stories from the telegraph on here all the time which are put up specifically so the telegraph won't get hits on their site.

Pretty sure they are paid by the 'hits' received.

My son is a youtube partner and gets paid for stuff he posts.

It's actually forum policy to post links/sources to ALL stories republished on this website.

I'm referring to posts on FB pages completely lacking any attribution or sourcing.

At the very least with the link, there's the chance a few people would click through.

People who yell Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi

It makes our nation sound like a bunch of geniuss FFS

For a guy who has sat next to the barmy army for 5 days and who has been in active support groups for soccer for a few years now where some actual creativity is used and over 20 songs/chants can be sang by 100+ people in one game Aussie Oi is one of the most frustrating things to ever hear. The yobbos far exceed the intellectuals

Yep. Someone started it in the first tunnell in the city to surf this year. Turns our yelling FAAARK OFF gets a good echo in those things.

'Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi' is this great nation's second greatest embarrassment. The first obviously being AFL.

Pommies are bloody good at football chants...amusing and clever.
