funny thing is how when he first got the gig, he was unsure whether it was good for his club situation if he unlocked secrets of how to stop the melbourne players in the maroons.

i guess he either decided not to use what he knows, or he a poor coach.

Brown envelopes and boats don't you win you origin games - unless they're for refs.

Okay I was joking but why would he unlock his secrets of club players that he has for the whole year for a rep team he has for 3 weeks. MAkes no sense.

"You knew exactly what he was going to do, you knew exactly where he was going to go..but you couldnt stop it, thats greatness"

Lou Carneseca on Oscar "the big O" Robertson, the only person to average a triple-double in an NBA season.

The above quote sums up perfectly what makes great players GREAT, the fact everyone knows what theyre good at but cant do a god damn thing to stop it. The point is it doesnt matter what Bellamy tells his players about Inglis & Slater or even Thurston &lockyer, their abilities will eventually over-come it.

1. Hayne
2. B Morris
3. J Morris
4. Lyon
5. Monaghan
6. Gidley (its gonna happen, no use denying) My choice: Barrett
7. Kimmorley/Pearce if he plays well back from injury
8. Weyman
9. Ennis
10.Douglas
11.Waterhouse
12.Lewis
13.Gallen

14.Carney
15.Snowden
16.Mason
17.TLL

Gidleys at 6. No use argueing with idiots (selectors). I chose the Morris bros cause they know each other so well and are left side specialists. Lyon and Monaghan are right side specialists. Hayne in his obvious position at fb. Pearce if he can come back strongly from injury would be a plus in the playmaking stakes, particularly with Gidley going to be next to him.

Carney to come off the bench in either dummy half or 5/8 with barrett going to lock. But, of course Gidley is playing, so Gidley would go to hooker.

I'm a Queensland fan, but if you'll indulge me...

1. Josh Dugan
2. Brett Morris
3. Jamie Lyon
4. Michael Jennings
5. Jarryd Hayne
6. Terry Campese
7. Mitchell Pearce
8. Michael Weyman
9. Robbie Farah
10. Kade Snowden
11. Tom Learoyd-Lahrs
12. Anthony Watmough
13. Paul Gallen (c)

14. Luke Lewis
15. Willie Mason
16. Brent Kite
17. Trent Waterhouse

You could easily move Campese to defend on Hayne's side, he is one of the best one-on-one defenders in the NRL, and generally gets through as many tackles as most backrowers.

This side would run Queensland very close.

Let's pick a NSW entirely from players currently in the Super League, that are eligible for NSW and also have representative experience (although I am taking a bit of artistic license by including retired rep players!):

5. Amos Roberts
6. Brent Sherwin
7. Matt Orford
8. Michael Vella

10. Joel Clinton
11. Clint Newton
12. Phil Bailey
13. Craig Fitzgibbon

14. Glenn Morrison
15. Steve Menzies
16. Mark O'Meley
17. Brett Kearney

Reserves:
Dean Widders

1. Dugan - Young, but should be given a go. May show nerves but if persisted will be a champion of origin in the future.

2. B.Morris - Wasn't given an opportunity in the first game. Defensively was solid.

3. J.Lyon - Not a five eighth. Has been tearing it up at club level in centres - let's keep him there.

4. Tahu/J.Morris - Tahu was very quiet the other night so I'm undecided on him. He can be lethal. Josh Morris could add a bit of spark into the side and could be swapped to be alongside his brother.

5. Burt - He is was NSW is missing. He is a solid player who will not let the team down. He shows determination and persistence in every game he plays. Good goal kicker too.

6. Carney - The X-Factor in the side. Has shown this year how good he can be - in the unnatural position of fullback. He is a dynamic player that puts the opposition in two minds.

7. Kimmorley - To be honest - he did very little wrong in the first game. He suffered due to a lack of five eighth. Kimmorley is the guide in the team - directing the direction of the play. Carney's dynamic nature and unpredictability will suit Kimmorley's style.

8. Weyman - Did nothing to get dropped for.

9. Ennis - See Weyman.

10. Snowden - He is a hard working prop who has lead the way at Cronulla. City-Country shows he puts his body on the line no matter who is playing for. The sort of player you want at Origin - never sits back and always puts 100% in.

11. Hindmarsh - It's a travesty that he is not considered. 80 minute player who tackles his heart out and won't let the man next to him down.

12. Gallen - He is Origin personified. He is aggressive, he pushes hard in attack and defence. This year has seen him stop giving away as many penalties and throwing the ball away with impossible offloads. Don't let the reputation blind you from the reality of his form.

13. Lewis/Bird - This spot can go to either. Whoever isn't lock will fill the utility role on the bench. Both strong players with good hands, and the size and power needed to be in the forwards.

14. Bird/Lewis

15. Kite - Similar role to what he is at Manly. A powerful prop coming from the bench. Damaging to a tiring opposition.

16. Douglas/White/Perry - This is another questionable prop position. Douglas is young but a workhorse in the vein of Snowden. White and Perry didn't show much in Game I - do we give them another chance?

17. Waterhouse/Watmough/Creagh - Pick another backrower. All have strengths and flaws.

My side I've gone for consistency and balance. For every flamboyant player, there is one who guides around the park. The forwards was a very weak point for NSW in Game I and I think this needs to be rectified. By having two 80 minute backrowers (with Gallen also having the ability to push forward into the prop position) you are effectively leaving an additional spot for a front rower. With four front rowers in the rotation - our go forward would be powerful.

Gidley does not deserve to be in the side. He offers little in attack, and little in defence. How he was in the starting side at all was joke, let alone how he was made captain last year. He is a blight and weakness in the team. EVERY PLAYER needs to earn their spot - he hasn't. Nor has Hayne.

How you dont have Learoyd Lahrs there, he was one of NSW best forwards behind Weyman. He should almost start in the front row.
Ennis kicked the ball dead a trillion times, along with kimmorley, and both of them created little opportunity along with Lyon, but thats understandable because he was playing out of position.

Hayne and Gidley when they moved around NSW scored a try of a Hayne pass put Lyon on the outside of his player and Gidley looked threatening taking the line on from five eight. They looked more threatening in 10 mins then Kimmorley did in the rest of the game. NSW scored three flukey sh*t tries of kicks.

Dugan should be on the wing ahead of Burt.

Realise nsw selectors hardly look at indigenous players. ok idris might be the first in a while. but if you look at the likes who have being snubbed in the past like campbell, and blacklock in the early 2000s when he was one of the best wingers going around. now we got others like soward, sutton, merritt who are. but none of the them will get selected.

Merritt should be on the wing with morris

Soward five eight.

unfortunately sutton isnt just ready because soward is better then him and is playing in a winning consistant side.

So would countless sides, why is it that the selectors pick the worst one possible?

lol, playing the race card. Those players simply aren't the best in their positions. I'd consider Soward, maybe, but I'd have Carney ahead of him.
