Yow Yeh's Ankle

When he first did it, seen the blood and my stomach dropped. Watching it back, that landing was always gonna injure him somehow. Seeing all the tension release at once... Sickening. He is lucky he didn't break his left ankle as well, which is what i thought happened. Hope he can make a comback, one of the better wingers playing today.

And to make matters worse, someone tread on his hand. :(

poor kid. cruel injury no matter how long/if it takes to recover. well on his way to being one of the best wingers in the game and i remember only a few months ago Sailor (of all people) predicting he'd be the best winger in broncos history.

let's not write the obituary on his career just yet. I hope he gets all the support to get through the mental anguish of the rest of the year

tbh i'm always surprised we don't see more injuries like this in out game given the collisions and contact

It is a huge rehab process. The media should stop with the time frames for a comeback. He may be lucky to walk again properly let alone run.

I seriously believe best possible outcome for Yow Yeh will just to make it back by next year.

I only had a simple break in the bottom of my fibula and I was in a cast for 6 weeks. Given the mess made of Yow Yeh's lower leg/ankle, it will be a miracle if he makes it back this season.
The possibility of infection and complications is very real and could end his career. It's a case of fingers crossed that he is ok. Mentally, I don't know how he can get back to his best. If he does, it would be a pretty couragous effort.

Did the same thing when I was 19 in a car accident. Never been able to run since and had to learn to stand and fight. 40 odd years later and 4 hours is the maximum on my feet before the swelling begins

Potentially a career ending injury. Never mind the physical side of this, mentally, JYY (a speedster) will have a tough time in recovering from this.

It amazes me people think he will make it back to the finals, are we all looking at the same pictures here? his foot would probably be lying 5m away from him if it wasnt for his socks holding it in..... lucky if he ever runs at full speed a gain.

I will eat my sock if he's back with the bronco's this year or next even....

FFS some of stupid merkins saying "i hope he walks again" are acting like he was in a car crash and his leg has multiple fractures, just shows how little many of you have seen of the real world and real trauma. Live a little in my shoes and you'd know what real trauma is all about.

Yow Yeh will be fine and will play again next year, probably not at his best till 2014 though because he will have to build up his confidence, so stop over analyzing things like you are all doctors

A friend of mine had a similar looking break in a baseball game, end result... Never played sports since and still has a heavy limp 10 years later.

Recovery of professional athletes is a completely different kettle of fish, but get off your soapbox. It's just about one of the most serious injuries you can get as an athlete. The risk of infection is massive if the marrow leaks into your blood stream, not to mention the amount of ligaments and tendons in the area.

Bit of magic spray and some strapping tape and he should be right to go next w/e....

Seriously though, goodluck for his recorvery. Going to be a long road ahead, but hopefully he can make it back. Im sure the Broncos will be supporting him with everything he needs, so his chances should be good.

It's as worse as it looks. Don't be surprised if he required a screw or plate to hold everything together. Whole season off easy if not more. Shame to see him injured though. Was a entertaining winger to watch.
