Euan Aitken runs hard

If he plays in the forwards I expect to see him occasionally rag dolled.

Perhaps if he comes on when the opposition forwards are tired, he may bust the line.

Yeah, agree. It’s a risk. I’d be saving him for the final 20-30 mins and just rotating the other 3 bench forwards for the first 60 mins.

Zac Lomax comfortable playing utility role
St George Illawarra Dragons player, Zac Lomax, talks to the media about his role in the team and how he is ready to play any position the team needs.

He didn't sound too "comfortable".
Thats gotta be the most uncomfortable interview I've ever watched.
Poor kid doesn't know whats going on.
Playing in the forwards. Sitting on the bench. Not knowing if he's going to get any minutes or not.
I bet he is hating it.

What else can he say. I’m worried that because he went so well when he came on in the middle against the knights L plate will just continue to use him there as a token gesture. The kid should be in the team at centre now. He is so composed for his age, wants the ball in his hands & makes things happen.

I am really glad to see the enthusiasm Zac brings when gets on the paddock regardless of what position he is filling
His line speed was a joy to watch against the Dogs and he helped markedly to lift our intensity
The other thing which is noticeable is his raw strength as he is incredibly powerful
His natural physicality is something I wish Luciano had in his game.
If Lomax was around 30 years ago he could easily be a high quality lock forward in the Brad Clyde mould.

Big statement when you consider he is only getting 10 mins a game.Brad played a full 80 and at pace.

That's true, but evidenced on what I have seen of him last year and thus far this year and in line with being positive about the good things happening in our team, I therefore believe what I said is correct.

You may be right OT and the fact that he looks unlikely to get a real go at centre , he may have no other option ! ( masterstoke by the master coach in turning a potential champion centre into a champion lock ! )

Surely Aitken would be a better option off the bench and Lomax a better option at right centre. Mary's pride is the only thing in the way of this sensible selection option.
A few weeks ago I would have agreed possm. But especially against the bullfrogs AITKEN was very very good. Let's see if it was a flash in the pan.. ..

our halves are giving early ball without widdops crab-fest (great player but man can he run sideways) Aitken has a limited skill set but pound for pound strongest in the team if not close to the comp, great left fend and rarely pulled down from behind.

But OD, the things he did last Sunday could be done from the bench and as a centre or a backrower. Again, his try assist record is astonishingly bad.

Dennis I'm not disagreeing with you but Mary's had plenty of chances to replace Aitkin. He didn't replace him before there's no chance he will replace him now. I agree Zac Lomax has a higher ceiling but but but. You know what I'm saying
