Who know, maybe Aitken could do very well off the bench in the lock rotation. Any yes, Lomax might very well do even better than Aitken at right center.
Lomax already did better last season, particularly in defence and has the "it" factor. He could be a 10/10 player. Aitken would provide great punch as a utility and we have seen enough to know his ceiling is nowhere near Lomax's.

Watching Xerri go round for Sharks really compounds the hurt that our counterpart, Lomax, is just sitting out being wasted, and his development and experience stunted. Zac has been on the scene much longer than Xerri, and did brilliantly when injury gave him a chance last year. Yet it's the Sharks' fans who can be assured great things for the future while our Zac sits idly on the bench. Yes, you can argue he's not a winger or that Aitken's been solid but really, a coach with half an eye for talent would be getting him in the team pronto.

He has a lot to work on re game management. Very green.

He was given a matter of a few minutes v Dogs and managed a try by putting himself in the right position. If you saw Xerri in his second game, it was deplorable, must have dropped the ball 5 times including two bombed tries. Morris sticks with him. Zac was given a chance out of position in Charity Shield and had a mediocre game. Mary pulls the pin.

More to it than that. Xerri is a FG centre for one thing.

‘ A diamond in the the rough ‘ - so to speak is young Lomax , but my how brightly he shines even now before the final process has been completed .

The gleam stands out for miles and if not quickly polished here at the Dragons , then it will be done elsewhere , the Chooks , Storm or any number of clubs that can see his full potential - for pity sake Mary use him before we lose him forever .

With instructions from Mary to not do anything fancy, just run straight and hard and get to a quick play the ball; oh! that's Aitken's game instruction as well.

Lomax has a footy brain and can produce opportunities for his team on the inside and outside. He is not an Aitken style of player.

Zac Lomax, the gifted one, as Fittler called him, but I'm getting the feeling of gifted one in what position.

I don't think Centre is going to be his position moving forward. Given his body shape, height and weight and definitely. doesn't have the pace.
I was interested to watch the Sharks game last night particularly their edge forward Nikora. To give you some comparisons: Nikora is 21yrs old and listed as 185cm and 94kg. Lomax is 19 and currently listed (but I think he's bigger now) as 190cm and 94kg.

Could Lomax be destined for life as an edge forward?

He's definitely a very strong Defender, does have good pace for a forward, can offload, and has good play awareness. So, is playing from the bench as a middle forward by McGregor, his slow introduction to a permanent role. Time will tell I suppose, but with Dufty extended and now playing full back and love child will be harder to move from his current Center position it appears that Lomax might have to settle for this role more permanently.

He is a Centre or Fullback....only McGregor would play him in the forwards ala Kurt Mann.

If we don't give him the opportunity I am sure that some astute club may come knocking somewhere in the future. Point being, they need to make a decision on this somewhere down the track.
