First Look: 2016 Alternate Jersey

The St George Illawarra Dragons have given Red V Members first glimpse of their 2016 ISC Alternate Jersey.

This year the traditionally red alternate strip will feature a detailed graphic with a fire-breathing dragon as the focal point.

The idea was to create something completely different while remaining true to the core red colour. From a distance the jersey just looks plain red but when you get up close you can see the intricate detail.

Some members of the playing group were consulted on the design and those who have seen the outcome are impressed and particularly like the subtle “Dragon Illustration”.

The entire ISC range will be revealed in the coming weeks and the alternate strip, as always, will accompany the traditional Red V home jersey.

The new look alternate jersey comes as the Dragons Team Store prepares to launch a fresh new look online store. The revamped online shop will launch early November and for the first time carry the exact same range as the store in Kogarah.

The first shipment of 2016 ISC gear is due in store and online from the 15th of November.

Dragons alternate is a winner IMO, they're obviously not going to change the home jersey at all so i think they're one team that can be forgiven for going a little out of the box for their alternate, and it's done really well too.

I love it!!!

Watermarks (while not everyones cup of tea) is a fantastic way to design new jerseys. From afar (eg: on the field) you can barely see it so it doesnt matter if the design is terrible.

Also, the designs can be far more intricate when they are done in this way. They designers can hide Easter Eggs in their because the design is only visible from close up.

Plus, the watermarks break up the otherwise solid colours and adds a bit of texture.
