AMNRL/USARL what if??

Iowa - you mention that perhaps the AMNRL will perhaps end up a mid-west league. What is stopping guys like you from jumping onto the USARL? and what keeps you connected to the AMNRL?

I just think clubs/individuals/stakeholders need to put the betterment of the game as the basis on their decisions and not on previous relationships/alliances that were formed. The game of RL has so much promise in the US but any development over the last few years has been severely hindered by squabbling, poor decision-making and self-interest. It's been extremely frustrating watching it on the sidelines that the US has not got its act together as we all know the game can flourish if done right.

If the USARL does become the governing body in the US, I hope they seek as much support and assistance as possible from the RLEF.

DWI, I've stepped down as coach for the Slayers and am only running import recruitment and few other minor jobs for the club. I've been involved with the AMNRL/USARL negotiations and am helping the board with other projects that continue to develop.

Can you provide any details on the negotiations? Seems like a merger was likely and a major announcement was set to be released a couple weeks ago but nothing ever happened. All that was announced was an open invite for all teams to enter the USARL...

Josh, we aren't tied to the AMNRL, we left earlier this year to get the Great Plains RL started. However things seem to be still working for Chicago. Only Reason we haven't gone eith the USARL is because we can get games from either side being unaffiliated, and we want to grow outside being a "development region"

I spoke to one of the guys from Ny Raiders today, and he knew nothing about it. He's not 100% sure on the ownership of the logo (they were all redone a few years ago), and hopes they aren't trying to keep using the name and making a new team.

Yes, in actual fact they do have the sole rights to the use of the names - ie. Brisbane Broncos in the NRL. That is why during Super League, all the Super League teams were actually officially called 'Cronulla Super League' etc.

Under the arrangement with rebranding the AMNRL, it may well be that they own the right to the logo's.

We haven't yet determined who owns The 'AMNRL'? Does Grand Prix still own the rights and is Tatham still Chairman and apparently 'founder' as stated on their website. The same website that has one update in over 15 months. Not even results of the Tomahawks from the WC and this is the body that is supposed to be running the show in the US? At least the USARL's website posted the results.

Surely there's some members on here that can shed some light?

Whoever was involved in selling the AMNRL has a lot to answer for. It should never have been a private company anyway. Wtf
