RL independence day arrives - NRL Independent Commission announced for November 1

Yes, because the clubs have no interest in the game's health and growth... as opposed to a news corporation which has consistently taken advantage of the game's ratings, while underpaying it. :sarcasm:

    Lol@50uff$ IV: We got this!

He sunk his speedboat a few weeks after joining 50uff$. He has since upgraded... (Note GI was not on board at the time the picture was taken) Below, with GI on board testing it out. Since then, the ship has been re-baptised and structurally reinforced...

    Kangaroos Team Vs New Zealand

Only a few years ago, having all those players out would've meant NZ were no chance. Now, they have so much more depth, that they still can put a very competitive team on the paddock... Good stuff! Time for a second NRL team in NZ?

    Broncos could lose McGuire

Maybe you missed it, and I'd just like to highlight the irony of the highlighted part when compared with the rest of that sentence... :sarcasm:

Geoff Carr has a cry about dual eligibility

As I said, it's not a dig at anyone, but feel free to ignore that... :sarcasm: Whether Marshall is better than Locky or not isn't the question. At the time he pledged to NZ, he wouldn't have had a chance to challenge Locky or Thurston for a halves spot. Whether you like it or not, unless...

Geoff Carr has a cry about dual eligibility

For most, I don't think it's about turning down the OZ, Maroon or Blue jersey, but more of a calculated gamble, as those jerseys are more difficult to obtain than any other. This isn't a dig at NZ or any other country, but most of the players mentioned by the idiot wouldn't get a look in the...

The new favourite for the 2012 premiership is?

I'll go with the Warriors, although a new coach always brings a big question mark. In ability and potential, they are right up there, especially now they have a much better player (Friend) in what clearly was their weakest position. Besides, they have the best junior team for the second year in...

    Lol@50uff$ IV: We got this!

Personally, I laugh at 50uff$ mainly because of how they regard themselves. Any time one of them utters the words "pride of the league", I chuckle loudly. It's the only club I can think of that has more arrogantly deluded, than proud, but realistic individuals. It's hard to find any sense of...

    Kangaroos Team Vs New Zealand

I think BP is taking the word Test a bit too literally... IMO, you don't have to be competitive to be a Test Nation. I do think that the country needs to have a significant competition, or at least clubs competing in one, an infrastructure capable of sustaining said teams as well as a junior...

Surprised Baptiste isn't in there, he's the best hooker in the U20's imo.

    Early 2012 Premiership odds.

Good team on paper... Big question on the halves though, especially if Prince doesn't bounce back from a pretty crappy year!

Worst refereeing performance of the season

The worst 3 games were all in the finals imo. The Warriors definitely got the rough end of the pineapple against the Tigers and were also very unlucky against Manly in the finals. Personally, although bias may be involved, the Manly-Broncos QF was also pretty appalling in the first half.

    Brisbane Broncos 2012 Thread

I think I would scream if I saw Carney wearing the Broncos no. 6. Jerseys don't get more sacred than that one, seriously! Wallace hasn't had a chance to gel with anyone in the halves bar Lockyer, and granted year 2010 was below par, but let's see what he does with a bit of routine with another...

Have the Tigers convinced Moltzen to stay? Release sought from his Saints contract

To be fair to him, he had been sidelined for a while with an injury. Not easy to get back and perform at top level, especially in the finals...
