Scrums: Let's Make 'Em Useful Again...

How about taking it back to mod league style. Scrum can't break until first receiver gets it or a player attacks from 7/13. The referee is already telling the players when to break Keeps the forwards ( or whoever ) bound and out of the play longer, creates space, and doesn't drastically...

    2012 NSW ICCC - Sydney

Word is from AllSaints that the officials were actually offered the ICCC rules to clarify and they would not acknowledge it. Not Good. Good win by All Saints to recover, but they'll be hard pressed to back up after the rematch.

    Sydney Super A Grade 2012

New SW Sydney club (est. 2011) Liverpool Titans have stuck their hand up to enter the Shield comp this year. Any interested players, Training is at Jardine Park, Casula Tuesday and Thurday. 6:15 for a 6:30 start. Or email darcy @ liverpooltitans.com

    Cabramatta 9's

Word is Campbelltown Eagles have been pulled from the 9s as they aren't currently affiliated with any competition and would therefore have insurance issues. Not sure how this effects the Macarthur Brothers side, as they aren't affiliated either, but they seem to be fine

NSW Clubs forced out of QLD Cup

I guess it could work out alright for the Raiders. The only thing I can see unaccounted for is what will happen to the Canberra local U18s comp. I'm sure a fair number of teams would be based around these players coming back. Obviously they all want their kids to step up to the next level, but...

Thirteen Group 6 teams withdraw from comp

The Hinchinbrook brawl was in 3rd Grade. 2010 Season. Apparently they have a suspended $5000 fine as well, and were originally told they couldn't field a team in 2011, but I'm not sure where that stands now the comp has split.

Thirteen Group 6 teams withdraw from comp

There were two main issues: 1 was an on field brawl caused by the Hinchinbrook club against Bowral. The fight got really out of hand, and the Wests club was banned for the year as a result. the 2nd was the Collegians club, who allegedly assaulted a bouncer at their major sponsors place at a...

Thirteen Group 6 teams withdraw from comp

All of the Wests clubs have been hit. For them it came pretty much out of the blue. The Wests administration must have seen something coming - after all they were behind the main reasons that Group 6 wanted to split. There were a few incidents throughout the year with Wests clubs, and they...

    2011 NSW Cup

Wow that doesn't sound good for the Magpies. Don't get me wrong, I love Western Suburbs, and have even coached juniors there, but it looks like a slippery slope. First a name change, then the fringe players get moved... Slippery slope

    Royce Simmons

The Royce Simmons twitter is pretty much a laugh (@RoyceSimmons for those playing at home), I'd say its all pretty harmless. Royce has constant Sudoku, Shandy, and Witches Hat jokes.

    Bundy Cup 2010

Campbelltown are in the same boat as you guys at Cabra. The club barely supports them, and promote their local A Grade team as the premier side. The money going to players is minuscule, and the coaching staff get nothing, and even provide their own footies! I don't know how clubs acting like...

    Skando is back...

Yeah mate, but Leo picks a side each week to go to print, it rarely looks like that come game day. Once Sheens makes up his mind, it'll change.

    Bundy Cup 2010

Big win from Campbelltown away from home this week. They are starting to really shape us as a Rugby League team. 4 in a row, a first for the club since coming into the competition

Yeam mate the one and the same. He's actually in pretty good form too :)

    Bundy Cup 2010

So has anyone heard anything else about this new Bundy reserve comp? What teams are entering, points systems etc? I'm being told that they were looking at promoting youth squads (U18/19) age groups, but nothing official yet. I love the concept, but unless it is done properly, it'll fall...

the one handed basketball style carry

I doubt it has much to do with showboating. It is actually coached and encouraged at development levels now. Some kids are more enclined to holding the ball like that, and it gives some of them a powerful offload. With so much of the game revolving around second phase play, why wouldn't you...

    Parra A grade teams?

Ha - the points system Wests have just pushed for that this year, informing all the clubs 10 days out from the start of competition that it would be in place. I know it has thrown alot of clubs out on their arse. I understand that these administrators are trying to promote an "even"...

    NSWRL Junior Reps 2010

No worries, I'll keep all the people here at LU updated on our boys as we get ahold of it. SG Ball first trial is Jan 16 against I think Souths. Squad is currently 30 (give or take) players, and looks very strong Matts are still training as a large squad with the SWSAS team, they should...

    NSWRL Junior Reps 2010

I agree with you mate that it's gonna be hard for them to crack starting spots in ball. The boys both know that. I can't comment on why they decided to come across, but all I know is the boys seem pretty happy.
