    Gains, Losses and Re-Signings

There's nothing more sad or pathetic than people who derive pleasure from the disappointment of others and who deliberately troll other team's sites trying to stir up trouble. Why don't you broaden your horizons and go onto one of the news sites? Hopefully there'll be a natural disaster or...

    Gang tackles: illegal or not?

Out of interest - who do you follow? Do you have any "grubs" in your team or are you the bastions of sporting morality that never contravene the laws of the game? Maybe your guys occaisonally get penalised but it's never malicious, reckless or negligent. It's always an incidental and...

    Gang tackles: illegal or not?

Who says the outlawed tackles are Storm tactics? It's only one-eyed people like you who try to find anything to discredit the Storm's success. Are you saying these type of tackles never happened prior to 1998? As stated by others in this thread, the Storm tactics are to get numbers in the...

    Gains, Losses and Re-Signings

It did heaps for the Dragons - it's the only reason you won the title last year! I would have thought you'd be a bit more grateful.

    Dallas Johnson

I think it's just a case of a guy who's done everything he ever wanted to in the NRL and who wants to move onto the next stage in his life. DJ maximised every ounce of talent he was given and ended up winning 2 flags, playing & winning SOO and playing for Australia. He's never going to win a...

Stuart should get his own house in order - Bellamy

Good stuff - you've given yourself room to backflip if he is recruited under the guise of turning him from the darkside. May the force be with you!

Stuart should get his own house in order - Bellamy

I think this type of claim would have much more merit if it wasn't from a disgruntled fringe player from 4 years ago who had very little to do with Bellamy. If you read Bellamy's explanation: "I might have said 'why didn't you put this hold on him or why didn't you try and turn him on his...

    Cameron Smith

Yes - because Adrian Morley is a good bloke and stuck up for him at the hearing. Enjoy the off-season. I'm sure you're looking forward to another great year under Fitzgerald & Hagan with all those gun recruits coming to the club.

Stuart should get his own house in order - Bellamy

Maybe I'm terminally naive, however, I find it very difficult to believe that one of the most respected coaches in the competition (Coach of the Year 2006, 2007) would actually instruct his players to wilfully endanger the safety of opposition players. Wouldn't players like Ben Cross, Nathan...

Stuart should get his own house in order - Bellamy

Right, and any evidence to the contrary such as the pictures or stats quoted in Bellamy's article have no place in this discussion. If Warren Smith and the guys on Fox think the Storm started all this then we should take them at their word. One quick question for you - do you actually think...

Stuart should get his own house in order - Bellamy

So I guess you're hoping that a dirty player like Cameron Smith doesn't sign with the Titans. I wonder why Searle would even think about recruiting such a bad element into such a squeaky clean environment. Oops - sorry, I forgot about Rogers' minor indiscretion at Olympic Park this year.

    Cameron Smith

You're right - there's no place for people who want to use data to support their opinion in this forum!

Stuart should get his own house in order - Bellamy

So if I dug up images of similar tackles before the Storm even existed would that refute the argument? This whole grapple tackle issue is a self-fulfilling prophecy. A lot of people want it to be true to make themselves feel better about their own lack of success. To do this, they jump on...

    Cameron Smith

Wasn't Nathan Hindmarsh one of the first players ever charged with a grapple tackle when he choked Adrian Morley a few seasons ago? He doesn't play for Melbourne so it must have just been a tackle that went wrong. Only Melbourne are coached to use those illegal tactics, right!

Stuart should get his own house in order - Bellamy

Everyone keeps saying this but I can't find anyone with the facts to back it up. These's a difference between a grapple tackle that can potentially cause injury and wrestling to slow down the ruck.

Stuart should get his own house in order - Bellamy

Long overdue for Smith &/or Melbourne or overdue for the entire NRL?

Stuart should get his own house in order - Bellamy

"He's been found guilty of attacking the head or the neck, or whatever it was. Rules are rules," Stuart told Sydney radio 2KY. "It's disappointing for Cameron. It's disappointing for their coach because he's a big part of their team. "He's been flirting with it all year so the time comes when...

Stuart should get his own house in order - Bellamy

I don't think anyone is blaming Stuart for Cameron's suspension. What a lot of people are questioning is the consistency in applying these rulings. The whole point of Bellamy's column was to highlight that Melbourne are being singled out by Stuart and others as the main offenders in this area...

Stuart should get his own house in order - Bellamy

Unless I'm mistaken, wasn't my question about grapple tackles Einstein? Try reading the question next time and see if you can formulate a response that actually has some relevance to what has been asked.

Stuart should get his own house in order - Bellamy

What's your point? Are you saying that a grapple tackle is worse than a highshot or any other form of illegal conduct or are you saying that a breakdown of the statistics would show that the Melbourne incidents are mainly grapples and would far exceed the same offence by any other club?
