Especially when things like health, security, education, infrastructure etc. are in need of massive funds.

When you read the threads that are linked to any of the NRL PNG team Facebook posts a lot of the local PNG people are saying exactly the same thing.

If the tas government wants to spend that money in their state is up to them and the voters, not much i can do from qld about that.

The LNP have stated they don't want to spend billions on an Olympic stadium either.

That doesn't make sense, it is either 60M of new money or they are taking from the aid budget, it can't be both.

If it is a mix then it is still taking money from needed services that they can not provide for themselves, hence the need of aid funding.

Nope just going off the articles and reports as I see them, the WA premier cook, is hellbent on getting a team, he won't care who it is..

It's safe to say he'd prefer to back WA businessmen before a Sydney leagues club.

The $2mill bribe, is that a year or one off? If yearly that’s $340mill to clubs over the ten year deal. Is that funded out of govt money or nrl coffers?

We'd need to see the full details but it sounds like it would be part of the Govt funding as a licence fee as Vlandys has consistently spoken about expansion needing to be of benefit to the existing members (clubs)

Clubs will want more than a one off payment amounting to just $2m.

It was the govts idea so sure pvl job is to milk them

every club getting 2 million more pa just means every club makes bigger profits and is worth more if they want to sell them

nrl must be one of the few sports in the world where all the clubs make profits

I believe it’s an increase to the already allocated aid money.

I hope the NRL announce the next two teams together. Perth or whoever in first, but work on the ground in PNG to start concurrently for them to come in a few years later.
