Without the wa govt stalking pvl they were no chance of a place in the nrl

Again I’ve said this before

govt involvement in png (bad)
Govt involvement in Perth (good)
There's a difference between Government assistance to get a bid accepted & established with the necessary facilities, and an ongoing need (after establishment) for subsidies beyond that initial injection to operate year after year.

We get it you don’t like Perth but any area in Australia or NZ is different to PNG. You know it because you even argued it yourself.
My main contention with Perth is its time zone and small RL fanbase make it next to worthless to the FTA component of the broadcasters rights. Its junior base is too small and amateurish to provide more than a few plodders to the talent pool.

If the goal is to expand the talent pool then Perth fails miserably. If the goal is to wring more money out of the broadcasters then it fails miserably.

Thus it begs the question.

What value does Perth provide?

It'll never be anything but a smaller and more unviable version of the Titans.

Why waste an NRL licence on such an unproductive market when we've got a 100+ year old behemoth in Coorparoo that's ready to go and has support from Ch9 and the QRL?
