Never said that but they need to become fans ,at least some ,which they won't .
Are you suggesting there's a large proportion of the Perth population who don't follow sport? Just waiting for an NRL team?
We have to win fans from somewhere..
Maybe they'll fall from the sky?
are you suggesting all 2 million people in Perth are rusted on AFL fans and won't follow any other sport?

What a load of rubbish lol by your argument no sport would ever be able to establish itself in a new area. Yet sports history is littered with such things happening.

Difference is Perth and Melbourne is that Melbourne inherited a very decent side of players from defunct clubs like the Mariners, Reds etc.

A Perth side won't have that luxury.
All these tens of thousands of supporters that are supposedly going to flock to their home games won't be watching an instantly successful team.

But that's right, Perth have thousands of juniors that will be ready to play first grade within 2 - 3 years, just like the storm, right??
How hard would be for Perth to build a decent roster? A Brisbane team had a hard time with Bennett at the helm..
Perth? You want me to move to Perth?
Could be an absolute disaster getting flogged by 30 every week.. that'll get them to ditch the Eagles 🙄

I would suggest that the Brisbane area, and indeed the state of Queensland in which the Dolphins are based already produce NRL standard players.

Perth are still living off Matt Peterson.
For a fan of a club that struggles to get more than 12k to games id have thought you’d appreciate how low the attendance bar is set. Our basketball team gets more than the raiders lol

There’s no doubt it’ll be a challenge, especially when the nrl refuses to support new clubs to help them hit the ground running. there’s things that could happen to lesson the risk but its unlikely the dumb nrl will mitigate the risk.
Problem is if that is the position then the game will never ever grow beyond nsw and qlnd. Wellington will struggle if the history of the warriors is anything to go by.

The problem with this argument (if you want to call it that - I’d say it is more personal vendettas if anything) is that both sides of the coin are suggesting that their bids are all positive and that there are no negatives.

The idea that either option (Perth or NZ 2) are a slam dunk is absolutely ridiculous and completely disingenuous. They have positives and negatives as do all of the bids.

So now you've moved your jealousy to the raiders, one of the most financially secure teams in the comp?

And of course the geographically challenged AFL fan living 4000km away in Perth realises that the raiders are supported by people throughout country nsw who don't have the luxury of jumping on a bus or train for a short commute to a game.
