I literally switched from the bears to it being supported by brisbane easts

unlike you when I lost my club I’ve spent the past 30 years talking up the nrl and waiting for it to recover and be number one again

now the nrl is in a position where I reclaim it’s mantle as the number one sport you are jumping squarely on the bandwagon

go rugby league
Didn’t you say you switched to the swans when you lost your club?

That’s now what pippen is saying stop being dense

he’s saying you can’t just pick a location and give them an nrl spot that they need to have a strong bid that’s the most important bit
The bids come after the location, the nrl will determine which location Is strategically important then canvas for viable bids from that location. If you think they are just going to throw open club 18 bidding to any location you’re as delusional as pippen!

That's 100% correct.
The NRL will announce where just like Brisbane and bids will come out of the woodwork no matter where it is.

Like: " We have decided after so much as been added to our game in terms of talent, fans and corporate support that NZ is the ideal location for another team, we will be considering bids from right across NZ but we have a preference that it comes from outside of Auckland. "

The lesson is, there should be a team in Perth and Adelaide that isn’t a facade of a dead first grade team.
You’re the one that said a current nrl side should move lol

you need to read George Piggins book to get a clue about this topic and what killing off Sydney clubs does for the game

Stop misrepresenting his argument

he’s saying without a good bid from a particular location the location means nothing

Dw there’s a south’s fan on here arguing for other Sydney clubs to be relocated to Perth

it seems a lot of rugby league fans are just selfish dopes

so you aren’t alone buddy

even bandwagon fans help the game out in good times

go rugby league

Only if you think you have nothing to offer them. I have a feeling we are going to go around in circles here but new engaged audiences are beneficial (relatively speaking of course)
If the market is already dominated by afl then the large population is irrelevant

it’s how much of that population will realistically follow rugby league

and it’s not much more than places like a central coast or Wollongong

I'd be willing to bet it's less than that.

You really do like to misrepresent what I said.
A failing club gets relocated. But since there isn’t one then, no, a current team won’t go to a Perth. Nor should a bid where the new region connects with a past Sydney team be allowed to play their games in Sydney.
At the end, Perth is next in. They will play in Perth, and won’t be playing home games in Sydney.

Next team has to be NZ .
Currently the NRL is thought of as an Australian comp with a token side the Warriors but another NZ really feels like it NZ's as well.
Nations Rugby league

I wouldn’t be against that at all but the corporate side of things is the biggest hurdle.

Ah ok now you’ve changed your tune completely

as it was Perth who approached the jets about a link it invalidates the rest of your post

Maybe/maybe not. In any case, Perth is growing a lot faster and has a much larger population than the Central Coast or Wollongong so it would make to more sense to sell it there; notwithstanding the fact that we have already sold the game to those regions.

As I said you need to make the game available to new areas in order for them to be engaged. Perth, Adelaide, NZ South Island, Wellington, Pacific Islands/PNG are the areas without representation. They all have their strengths and weaknesses but if you want to try and engage with new customers then that’s where you go.

Reality is Perth will average crowds of 15k and will add probably 50k max new tv viewers at best

long term it help the nrl but they won’t be a game changer like the dolphins

Well the Dolphins are correcting what should have happened twenty odd years ago (at least)

Long term is important though. We have to sell the game to the most amount of people that we can

Exactly as I have been saying all along, more news will come in August when the NRL double header is played.
I told you these non negotiables would start to grey once the real talks heat up lol.

Averaging 15k in a non RL area, which is more then half of the NRL would be the very definition of game changer.

Are you on stupid pills today?
