Here's a post from the nutcase you're responding to [on the Cowboys' plight if a third Brisbane team is introduced]:

Now we know why he's against a third team in Brisbane. His claim is complete bullshit, too. The only front line Cowboys player who chose to leave for the Dolphins was Gilbert. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow couldn't lock down a spot in the starting side. Lemuelu was stuck in Queensland Cup.

Melbourne Storm lost more players than to the Dolphins.

I don’t care what he said in that situation. I’d disagree with his synopsis about the impact of the Dolphins re the Cowboys but that doesn’t mean he isn’t right about clubs recruiting players from anywhere and everywhere they can. That is because he is right on that regard.

There's many reasons a junior might move interstate. In the case of Kalyn Ponga it was because the Knights offered him significantly more money than the Cowboys could afford and a guaranteed position in their starting side at fullback. Lachlan Coote was ahead of him at the Cowboys in 2016.

Gilbert left the Cowboys for the Dolphins because he is originally from Brisbane.

Drinkwater was earmarked as Slater's successor at the Storm, but injury sidelined him. He moved to the Cowboys and has found a home as our fullback.

Thurston was stuck behind Sherwin at the Bulldogs. He was guaranteed the five eight position at the Cowboys by the legendary Graham Murray.

Adding a team to PNG will allow Papuans who are overlooked by the other 17 clubs to get a chance at playing in the NRL. Some of them will blossom into very good players that strengthen the competition. Without the Cowboys there would be many North Queenslanders who wouldn't have gotten a chance with any of the other clubs.

New Zealanders are missing out because there's only one team in the country.

Brisbane is large enough and growing at such a rapid rate that a third team can easily provide more opportunities for juniors who would be overlooked by the Broncos and Dolphins.

Exactly, people move for opportunities or more money etc. Players aren’t serfs.

I totally agree with you about New Zealand. I completely disagree with PNG for a number of reasons but if they get in I hope it works out.

Brisbane in 10 years time when their population increases significantly has a valid argument to make. Just not now.

I'd be happy for the Brisbane Tigers to wait until 2030.

they will also be the first ever club who's crowds will drop once they start losing, cause you know, that never happens to other clubs.
There were people arguing that a Perth-based NRL team is guaranteed to draw massive support because Western Australians love their teams. The idiots then cited support for the Scorchers and Wildcats, who are the two most successful teams in Australian sport. They ommitted Glory and Force because apparently soccer and RU don't matter.

Do you have avg crowds for soccer and union in Aus and where the perth clubs sit on that table?
