PNG needs to work on its infrastructure. More roads and improved public transport to make it easier for juveniles to play the game from an early age. Build more schools and rugby league fields.

The best thing the WA Gov can do is buy three games from the Wests Tigers to play at PRS. Games against Dolphins, Titans and Cowboys wouldn't draw too well at Campbelltown, but would pull a crowd in Perth.

A consortium from Perth should look at buying a small stake in the Wests Tigers and rebrand as the Western Tigers. Everyone wins. Tigers get more money through sponsorship, Perth-based companies get the opportunity to advertise their products into Brisbane and Sydney and WA Gov gets a few tourists.
Roads and public transport.

It's that simple folks.

The Oracle has solved PNGs problems!

That's the only reason you can think of to expand into Perth?

If you're going to use that bullshit dots on a map logic then why not think bigger, like John Ribot, and invest in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore or Beijing?

They're bigger markets than Perth will ever be. An NRL team in these markets won't have to compete with the Eagles and Dockers for marketshare, either.

If you don't think RL can succeed in these markets then wouldn't that make you an "AFL troll" who has a low opinion of RL?

That's what I get called for not getting behind the ludicrous Perth bid that has nothing to its name. The same logic can be used for people who advocate for Perth but ignore every other market in southeast Asia.

South Africans and New Zealanders in Perth will choose RU over RL as their preferred game to play and watch, despite the struggles of Super Rugby. For every person playing RL in Perth there's three playing RU. Adding an NRL team won't change that.
Not really feasible considering it's a 8+ hours flight to those cities, plus 99.9 % of those cities populations have probably never heard of Rugby League, nor speak English.

I think a half step backwards from NRL alone is required.

NRL 2 should incorporate NSW Cup, Qld Cup and NZRL.

PNG should seek to have the Australian government fund a 4 - 6 team fully pro comp with an NRL side in ten years. Build the foundations.

PNG teams should be a conference of NRL 2.

Fiji, Tonga and Samoa should also be added to second tier competitions (as Fiji sort of are) except they should join a new Pacific conference of NRL 2

The Pacific İslands can be won just using NRL 2. Greater pathways to fat more teams then Super Rugby.

That leaves us with NZ2 & Perth, maybe SQ (Tigers)

PS. Sharks should also move four games a year to Adelaide and make a slight rebrand to Southern Sharks with Cronulla Sutherland and Adelaide on the Jersey. Sydney teams should then make "Sydney Season tickets" so a fan in Sydney can go to all games in Sydney on one ticket.

Yeah the NRL are going to ask the Sharks to move 4 home games just after they've bought the hotel at Shark Park that will host spectators from out of town.
Imagine the ARLC saying "yes we've decided to move 4 Sharks home games to Adelaide so we lose money on our investment "

I think I need to add this into the Western Pasifika thread.

No I never did, I said they should be next

In 2020 you argued that Brisbane cannot support two teams. When the Broncos were struggling on the field you said Perth should get the 17th licence.

no I never, I said fta never paid anything and the jury is still out on how much extra on the last deal fox actually paid when you look at the tv deal numbers

You argued ad nauseum that the current TV deal is worth no more than the previous one.

it has, or will. Reality is new fans who may have become broncos fans may now become dolphins fans, that’s just obvious,

Broncos increased their membership by 10k after the Dolphins were admitted. Dolphins brought an extra 30k members to the game.

Broncos increased their attendances and television ratings after the Dolphins were admitted, too.

No I never, I said they paid nothing for brisabne2 so why should we care what they want

They paid "nothing" because they lost four Broncos games and were left out in the dark after V'landys negotiated a deal with Foxtel.

haha, coming from you I’ll take that as a compliment

You're a liar and routinely make predictions that don't come true.

Liar is a bit strong of a word, i would say negatively bias, to the point where tunnel vision for perf has made every post a bit of an impairment, just needs to take off those pvl hating glasses off then we can have a sensible discussion all round...

Where have I once mentioned any government figure?
The figure was suggested by journos quoting Albo, when he was asked about it some months ago, it was a figure they said they could very well stump up if it was needed, I'm fairly sure andrew hill mentioned he wouldn't need that amount, or he has no definitive amount to ask for yet, until all areas of the bid and options had been selected, for now it looks like they are just rolling with certain processes that will just get the bid ready, before getting all the figures nessesary...
Dont bother replying to maxipad, he didn't even know the sponsor of the png stadium, he is here just to troll and add likes and bloeys to the karens

He repeats the same lies after he's shown the truth. Most of his arguments are based on half-truths or outright lies.

I can understand him wanting an NRL team in Perth. What I cannot accept is his deranged entitlement complex and ingratitude towards rugby league fans in the heartland states. He wants bids from the heartland stats that have a more compelling case than Perth to miss out on a licence because he feels entitled to a team. It's not enough for him that the Melbourne Storm have been propped up by Queensland for a quarter of a century [to the detriment of rugby league in Queensland]. He wants a team in Perth to do the exact same thing.

A team from Perth will rely on Queensland and NSW for players. The NRL's revenue is generated primarily by rugby league fans in Queensland and NSW. He wants thr NRL to use its revenue to prop up a Perth-based team and the WARL.

I'm fed up of his sooking.
