The figure was suggested by journos quoting Albo, when he was asked about it some months ago, it was a figure they said they could very well stump up if it was needed, I'm fairly sure andrew hill mentioned he wouldn't need that amount, or he has no definitive amount to ask for yet, until all areas of the bid and options had been selected, for now it looks like they are just rolling with certain processes that will just get the bid ready, before getting all the figures nessesary...
Dont bother replying to maxipad, he didn't even know the sponsor of the png stadium, he is here just to troll and add likes and bloeys to the karens

Or the stack of East coast players the scorchers, Glory and Force have in the squads.

They really haven't got much clue about anything

This is incorrect.

$600M is the total foreign aid budget supplied to PNG annually, a journo speculated that some of this fund could possibly fund the team. No-one including journo's ever claimed, that sum will go to RL.

The only credible political article on it, released in December states the figure is

7.30 understands the two countries are in discussions about a potential decade-long agreement worth more than $100 million.

For the record, I think Bri3 should eventually come in, just not yet and the process needs to be wider and more exhaustive then just handing the licence to a big pokie den.

“Santos is proud to be part of the ongoing development of Rugby League, a sport that many Papua New Guineans love, and the naming rights sponsorship of the country’s world class stadium will go a long way,” Mr Buskens said.”

You should be able to easily verify your claims

Well because I like to show you out as the dumb f**k you are here goes

Perth Scorchers 0 players who don't play domestically for Western Australia

Perth Glory - 3 that are from the East. 1 of those is on loan

Force - have 15 of the 36 from the East.

5 of those played overseas last year. So had a 25% chance to come to Perth...

So data shows... They will need a pathway in place to at the very least fill out their squad

Did you find which teams Allianz, Accor, CBA, QLD Country Bank, Suncorp, CBUS sponsor?

We should honestly be at the point where Brisbane has 3 teams already and we should be celebrating 25 year anniversaries of Brisbane 2 and Gold Coast. This is how badly the game has been run, that it's taken 25 years after the demise of the Crushers to bring back Brisbane 2. Fast tracking in a 3rd Brisbane team now is a dumb idea, they should have a 3rd team but they will have to wait another decade or so.

Edit: actually my opinion is that it should have been Broncos, Brisbane 2, Titans and Sunshine Coast for SEQLD.

So everyone is a Western Australian? Really?
Force - have 15 of the 36 from the East.
Are you saying that 21 of the Perth Force are homegrown Western Australians, who have come through the WA rugby system?

Quite a few have come through the NRLWA Program too but went across to chase the professional dream.

The 17 stars PNG could target to build NRL side as $600m expansion raid set to ignite

Could Papua New Guinea play host to the NRL’s newest franchise? $600 million worth of backing could make the Kumuls’ dream a reality.

The ARLC and Australian government are reportedly discussing a bold expansion project to base the NRL’s 18th team out of Port Moresby.

ARLC chairman Peter V’landys has reportedly begun his due diligence regarding introducing a new team into the competition according to The Daily Telegraph.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is also backing the move and has reportedly tabled a package which would see $60 million per year injected in to the country over 10 years.

The bid would also see games played in Cairns, as a way to counter China’s growing influence in the region.

The $600 million investment reportedly won’t solely focus on rugby league, with funds being used to strengthen the nation socially and economically.

Then theres also this...

And then this...

And this....

And this ones my favourite..

I would categorise those sources as tabloids and fan blogs.

I doubt you would disagree with that.

And even then it's clear that it's not $600M for RL

I dont give a fùck.. sook, news outlets from all around said the same thing, you say one thing, many articles from random news sites say 60 mil over a decade, (obviously not soley used on the 1st grade team) but its mainly the gist of= govt wants to help Png= heres some mula, also based in cairns, so you can suck on a long dick as you often do anyways, cowboys gonna need to share a bit, like the bronx just did

Every Local Australian player in the Scorchers squad is Western Australian, Do you need it dumbed down further?

As for the Force

@Dragonwest is correct. A lot went across to finish school and came back from the Junior Wallabies. An NRL team likely would nab a couple but from the remaining 21

There are:

7 Kiwis
3 poms
1 Argentina
1 Samoan
1 Tongan

Cant do that, Nzders and poms are Perfs biggest imports... the figured will be skewed now

Excluding the offical imports as per BBL rules

The remaining 12 local spots are all from WA, I look forward to the dumb fool twisting that still.

Point is ALL potential areas will struggle to recruit for different reasons
