Yeh sure but just going by what has been in the media doesn't give me much hope they have been proactive in that regard. Considering the chairman only realised that perth exists and wants a team after the premier gave him a call leaves me doubtful.
again don’t give up hope, it must have been a pretty compelling conversation for Vlandys to go from calling us “a waste of money” to this:

"Perth has to be high on the table now, especially with a premier so passionate about wanting to have a team there. They warrant serious consideration," V'landys told the publication.
“If you've got a government that's going to get 100 per cent behind you, you've got a run-up start. We had a really good conversation and we'll be chatting again. The fact he rang in his first week in the job shows how keen they are

Just because it isn’t being played out in the media doesn’t mean things aren’t happening.

Yes but they are winning and full of locals, What is not to love about that for someone living in a city?
Well apparently it's not AFL though. This is an AFL entrenched city, every other sport is despised.
Just ask donkey and his off shoot.

The biggest problem with Perth is it offers little reward and comes with a lot of risk. The amount of funding needed to grow rugby league in a parochial fumbleball market will be enormous. The ARLC is not going to waste millions of dollars on developing the game at the grassroots level in fumbleball markets.

@Perth Red, @The Great Dane and @mongoose can argue all they like about the game needing to provide fumbleball markets with an NRL team and invest money at the grassroots level, but all they're doing is wasting their time. The QRL, NSWRL NRL clubs and RLPA have a say over these matters and will never accept their proposal.

In the best case scenario, a Perth-based team will lead to a modest growth in viewership and participation. The WARL will be lucky to have 10-15k players by 2050.

The Storm have been strong on the field throughout their 25 year existence, yet there's just 5k players in Victoria.

There's more room for growth in PNG and New Zealand.
@Perth Red rip buddy

And the wildcats and scorchers are examples of how good it could be. But hey not like you to look for the negative,
Wildcats cats the finals for 35 years straight. An NBL club operates on a budget of $1.65m-$2.92m.

Scorchers have won four BBL titles. A BBL club runs on a significantly lower budget than an NRL club

If you're banking on a Perth-based NRL team having that sort of success then you're dumb and delusional. The Storm spent $4m more than they made each season until 2012. Their losses were covered by News Ltd.

So you are telling me a losing NRL team is going to get people through the gates?

Or a Perth 3 team announced on the same time line gets less press then an NRL does?
Any losing team gets less people?! Campbelltown had a few sub 10k crowds last year.
Perth 3 AFL?? mate, your a good poster, don't go down the donkey route of posting dribble.

I still have hope for a perth nrl team because I believe they have everything needed to be a successful/big club and grow the sport in wa.

But I have been following and supporting the cause since 2006 when I was still in school and learnt about all the setbacks of the super league war, it's just a shame the nrl wasn't in a position for so long to right the wrong of perth losing their team and still not doing anything to help when the game finally financially recovered.

Vlandys is a lot more ambitious of previous administrators. Hopefully he doesn't leave before we get in.

Newcastle aside all clubs lose around 30-40% of their crowds if they are sht for a few seasons. We’ve got Sydney clubs still struggling to get 12k to games with the advantage of the away club bringing fans.
Auckland have dropped to 11.7k, gold cost to 11k, canberra to 9.6k, nq 14k all In last decade, but apparently this is going to be a unique thing for perth!

Face reality mate, Richardson jumped ship as he knew png link up was last hope for easts anytime in next decade or two. Queensland firehawks ain’t happening, not for a very very long time.they might get club 20 depending how long it takes to get that far, or it might be two Brisbane clubs is enough and that will be it.

The Brisbane Tigers Bid Chairman is Shane Edwards you dope!

When the club launchd its intent to bid in May Richardson wasn't at the press conference.

I’m less sure, he’s doing what he’s safe with, brought in brisbane, going after gambling money in usa to increase nrl revenue. I haven’t really seen anything ambitious yet under him.

Vegas has nothing to do with expansion. It's just another path he's exploring.
