Norths only had a 97 year head start lol. They managed a 1k more avg after 97 years to build a fan base, wow just wow.
It’s very bold of you to assert Perth can support an nrl team when the evidence showed after the initial year crowds had fallen to 8500

Yeah I'm crazy. I assume ppl in Sydney follow NRL more & ppl in Perth follow afl more. Unless Perth red is correct & most fox subscribers are from wa

Right so you can’t comprehend what I’m saying. You missed the point completely

Central coast will end up with a team one day. The population will just keep growing till the nrl can’t deny them

that’s how they will get back the north shore

i really can’t ever see many people from that area supporting manly
Maybe they will one day. That will likely be after Perth, NZ2, Brisbane 3 etc.

You literally said, and I quote:

If that's not advocating for Brisbane3 to combat the Lions then what is it? lol

I think we will have to have Brisbane3 at some point sadly as the NRL has screwed the decision on Brisbane2. UNLESS Dolphins surprise us all and can become a genuine second Brisbane club. But the signs are not good on that one. But not because of AFL. but because we need clubs to represent the whole region, and it would appear Broncos are having limited success doing that and Dolphins simply wont fill the gap in the South.

I agree the obvious choice for a genuine Brisbane2 was the Firehawks, but I suspect the Broncos had a massive say in the choice of the dolphins over them.

I'm not suggesting they will build a Leagues Club here. I'm suggesting they should build one here. Brisbane Lions have been raking in about $5m a year for well over a decade from the Lions@Springwood Social Club. That's money Easts Tigers could be bringing in and using to further their NRL bid funding Rochedale Tigers and Springwood Tigers, but they've been very insular and just focused on their business at Coorparoo. Broncos could have added one years ago. Our clubs are very insular and never think outside the box.

I've been saying for years that a Queensland Cup team should be based at Cronulla Park. The useless bastards from the QRL never listened to me. Now AwFuL have secured the land for the Springwood Pumas fumbleball club, who receive a nice handout each year from the Lions@Springwood Social Club.

So to sum it up, AwFuL is becoming rich from their licenced venue in Springwood and using it to fund grassroots development in Logan because the lazy wankers who run our game have neglected this city for 20 years. AwFuL saw an opportunity and pounced. Our game's governing bodies are marred by incompetent low brow hicks who have no vision running it into the ground and our largest competitor is reaping the rewards.
By chance how many Brisbane Lions , Queensland Reds and Brisbane Roar games do you attend or would you attend each year.

Why do you think a 10th side in Sydney would work considering the average crowd was what 1k more and the club was 90 odd years older.

Sydney teams were always going to die. There were just too many of them at the time. Sure that is sad but life goes on.

Central coast isn’t Sydney
Penrith is barely Sydney
Same with Campbelltown

dragons play half their games at the gong

you can say Sydney has 6 teams and that would be true in a way

Yeh but as you say they have leagues clubs.

so I guess we shouldn’t allow Perth in till they build a leagues club to support themselves
Are you suggesting a perth club will only get 8500 crowds now? Souths don’t have a pokie den and are making a profit, it’s only the lazy ones with no fans that need one. Thankfully we’ll never be that immoral as our state is sensible enough not to let them in every pub and club.

Please don’t tell me you are comparing a potential Perth nrl side to the most successful club in the history of Australian rugby league ?

You are at strange one lol, on one hand you say every nrl club should have pokies if they want to be in nrl, then when I point out that some of the most succesful ones off the field don’t have one you pull this question out. Bizarre.

A minor league set up if you will probably would only work if we had a national competition.

Broadly speaking, it could essentially work as the QLD Cup does now, so players 19-33 would be split amongst the affiliate teams. The NSW Cup would essentially just have the Bears, Magpies, Newtown and Illawarra plus other regions in NSW like Riverina, Central West, Northern NSW etc. You could also put teams in WA, SA and Vic into the NSW Cup. Maybe even the Silktails and a couple of NZ teams.

These conferences would essentially just run like their own competitions until a top 4 is selected for the finals between the two conferences and a Super Bowl style final.
Most NRL clubs dont want their professional players split and playing on sub standard venues

Qld Cup wont change to be national, but could do with Darwin and Perth added

While everyone wants NSW Cup grow to be teams like Norths, Newtown, Mounties, Blacktown join NSW country regions like Riverina, Western, Central Coast, Coffs, New England and Adelaide

But the only way to make all of these Tier 2 clubs even - is remove NRL players 19-36 from all teams and put them all on a Tier 2 grant / salary cap

Otherwise NRL clubs who have almost ALL of the money will overide all plans put forward

How many people in North Sydney don’t consume the game now but would consume the game if a North Sydney side were entered.
Well if the peak style traffic jam after the end of Swans game on Saturday crossing the harbour is any indication - might be a decent number

Broncos is a very profitable business, News aren't changing anything lol. I do think Broncos may need to have a rethink on their target audience areas now, looking more South, and maybe look to different feeder club arrangements. Starting with Tigers. Not that I want to see our only expansion club weakened!

Broncos are already affiliated with Wynnum and Souths Logan so maybe adding Tigers and Jets to the fold gives them a stronger footprint in Southern Brisbane region?
Easts Leagues were brought in to bail out Broncos Leagues a few years ago. If I was the Broncos then I would rather saddle up with Easts and take control of southeast Brisbane and Logan than wait for them to grow larger and enter the market as Brisbane Firehawks. Even if they just sold a 15% stake to Easts it would nullify a potential competitor and bring the southeast into their footprint.

I’m saying south’s don’t need a leagues clubs cause they are the most successful Australian rl club

something Perth will never be

tbf south’s juniors pays for all their junior development

edit south’s juniors is a leagues club
