Not from the discussions I’ve had, Bears fans just want the Bears back, red and black heck I’d even add some yellow for WA.
You can't have had many of those discussions then.

The average Bears fan that's still vocal in their support is totally delusional about what a Bears return should look like.

But alcohol destroys facilities and communities mate. You shouldn’t have alcohol.
Is PR going on another one of his authoritarian tirades where he proposes banning any vice and hobby he doesn't personally partake in again?

The way this country is going everything will be banned soon enough, and it'll continue to get worse and force social decay because prohibition doesn't work. Banning Nazi paraphernalia last year was crossing the Rubicon in a lot of ways. It went by almost totally unnoticed by the average person, but in the future historians will probably site it as a major indicator of fundamental change in Australian culture for all the wrong reasons.

No ones suggesting prohibition, but making access harder and changing public perception, clearly that has shown to work in minimiing useage and therefore health and social issues. Besides my issue is not the vice, its the game of rugby league exploiting people who cant control themselves and building the game on such ill gotten gains.
But hey ho, do you really care that much what my opinion is on this subject?

TBF, that's not what your leaders are saying.
It's not what the average Bears fan is saying either.

Some of them will lead with that, but their personal unreasonable "non-negotiables" come out almost instantly once you start to drill down.

It's really demoralising, especially as a Bears fan myself.

The rhetoric from the club clearly shows their position. Their only hope is a massive change of direction in that but I cant see it. I think they are delusional enough to think if they wait long enough eventually they will be back in and running the club. Its not helped by sydney media and sydney nostalgics yanking that chain every year.
Shame as it could work in Perth if done like the Swans relocation was, but that isnt apparently on the table from the Bears.

No discussions have been said on ownership this time around.
I think that you need to look at the four non negotiables again lol.
tbf they never mention ownership, only time was when Moore accidently let it slip in an interview. I think we'd know the answer if someone asked Dickson directly.

Please it’s Billy Moore, great player but please just keep the microphone and interviewers away from him, you’d have more chance in trying to understand Gary Larson when he talks lol

The USA has had a similar reduction in tobacco usage to other comparable Western countries without any similar restrictions in most states. That's not the only example either. . . Cultural change is the only way you can truely deal with these issues.

Top down government authority on these things has repeatedly been shown not to work and have disastrous social consequences. Prohibition, the War on Drugs, gambling and prostitution bans across the world, and many other similar examples, all of them create significantly worse problems than they solve.

You're wrong about this, you've always been wrong about this, and frankly you should keep your opinions to yourself when you're little more than a guest in this country.

Haha ok then, gtfooh you goof, there are discussions had every day, actual discussions, not just singular opinions as stated on here.
I know, I participate in them regularly and have done basically since the day the Bears and Eagles merged. We may have discussed this stuff in the past without you even realising it. It's the reason I'm so informed on this topic.

The only difference between people like you and me is that I'm capable of remaining objective when it comes to the Bears and you're not. Which is why you're tying yourself into knots trying to explain away inconvenient comments made by board members and the chairman as totally meaningless.

If the Perth Bear goes ahead I'd have all home games in Perth regular season.

Host an annual Bears/Manly trial at NSO similar to the Charity Shield. Make it an event.
I think that would be a definite. Like the Charity shield. Add in a game at Allianz (if commercially it stacks up) and 'away' games against Roosters and Souths at Allianz and you have a 4 game membership for NSW Bears fans to buy. From a WA perspective I could live with that.

I’d rather have Norths v Souths at NSO and make Manly travel on a midnight Jetstar flight and have then travel 6 hours across the Country with little to no leg room lol than have us travel and have Manly just travel 15mins across the spit bridge to play, stuff that why give then any advantages.
