at this point in time they are all as bad as each other. Gallop and Vlandys have basically achieved the same so far, an additional queensland club.
If Vlandys can deliver on genuine expansion of the game and 20 clubs time will tell and he will be judged accordingly.
For someone that’s hated him I guess that’s praise enough

but it’s pretty obvious 20 teams is a lock

Why won’t brisbane 3 be genuine growth ?

they will be a bigger club than Perth will ever be

there’s no metric where a Perth team beats brisbane easts
You see. Your post perfectly captures the problem. Expand to Brisbane? Say it out loud. AFL house wants us to do just that. You cannot win a war fighting within your boundaries. AFL house loved us leaving Perth. AFL house wants us to be timid. Why? Because it just gives them more opportunity to throw resources at our territory and steal it metre by metre. Force them to look over their shoulder and it changes the game. The growth of the game in Melbourne is now real. The lessons learned can be applied to Perth but it’s a friendlier market so the growth will be quicker.
But you know let’s keep fighting on our own turf. History teaches that never ends well by the way.

I wouldnt say hated, I dont really hate anyone I dont know.
Mistrust, dislike, think little of. That'd be more accurate.

This the NRL, nothing is a lock!

Disagree

we beat afl where they are weak ie Brisbane and qld

another Brisbane team and there’s a good chance both qld afl clubs fold

the Germans lost the war trying to expand into neighbouring Russia

Brisbane is our Barbarossa

a Perth nrl team will do zero to the strength of afl in wa

I had eight Alaskan malamutes down to four

losing them sucks
yeh this is the second dog Ive lost in my adult life, lucky both lived to good ages. Not sure I want to go through it a third time, even though I miss the heck out of having one in the house.

lol did you miss this weeks AFL press release about their Billion$ commitment to grassroots and how a big chunk of its going to nsw and qlnd? You're kidding yourself if you think a 3rd Brisbane club has any impact, just like 9 Sydney clubs has zero impact on Swans.

I do agree that is not why the NRL should be in Perth, if anything in the code wars what it will do is hammer another nail into Unions coffin. Twiggys $'s can only do so much. An NRL club in Perth will see kids flock to RL instead of Union.

15 years of hearing what the NRL is 'going to do' when it comes to expansion tests anyones faith!

Ive seen nothing so far that I haven't seen in other administrations.

That’s bc your eyes are closed then

clubs didn’t want expansion before now

by adding the dolphins he showed what the rewards can be and now the clubs opposition to expansion is much less

his legacy will be dolphins Perth and Christchurch bears plus a billion dollar property portfolio

Do you think that the Brisbane Tigers footprint/area will cease producing players if they don’t get a team? Or that interest in RL there will drop?

Why does it matter where the players come from? Is there any other professional sport in the world that thinks along those lines?

Or, if you truly believe that having a NRL team will lead to an area producing NRL players (it won’t - look at Melbourne), then isn‘t that a good reason to place teams in places like Perth?
I never said Melbourne and Perth will produce players.

Are you arguing for cities like Melbourne and Perth to not have teams because they won't produce players?

If so then I agree with you.

I'm sick of parasites from Canberra and Perth believing Brisbane should be nothing more than a breeding ground to supply unwanted teams in Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth with players they don't deserve. I'd rather see the game die than follow the "affirmative action" policies that are pushed by "expansionist" nutcases with a selfish agenda. If the other nutcases from Canberra believe Perth is so important then send the Raiders to the world's most irrelevant city.

Why do you think Brisbane RL fans should be treated like second class citizens?

I agree with you

but the reality is Perth will probably be in before easts

if png imploded then easts come in

but adding png Perth and Christchurch pacifika bears sure is a good move
I'm not convinced Perth will get a team.

Too risky for a risk adverse organisation like the NRL. Odds are V'landys will pander to the broadcasters. Ch9 have already indicated they want another team in Brisbane.
