You want to reduce the Queensland Cup to the third tier on the rugby league pyramid. That's essentially a death sentence for the BRL clubs that compete in the competition. Thousands of fans would stop supporting their teams if it was reduced to what the current BRL competition is on the QRL pyramid. Sponsors would pull support. Last year all numbers in QLD were up. Crowds, memberships (FWIW) participation, sponsorship, profile. You name it. Walk around Brisbane and it’s all Broncos. The game is going gang busters there. With that momentum and the Dolphins in only their second year it’s the perfect time to take the game to a potentially strong market like Perth. Should have happened years ago.
