1. Ratings - I never said they had grown so don’t put words in my mouth. That’s a straw man argument. And we can’t find out what the ratings are as we don’t have access to fox data. But we do know that on fta there is a big audience for big rugby league games in Victoria. The storms profile has definitely contributed to that.
2. Do some research and educate yourself about the pathways growing in Victoria. Stop being so obstinate and negative. The players are coming through.
3. It’s clear you have a really negative agenda with regard to the Storm. Well sadly for you they exist and are flourishing. That’s why you only focus on the negative. And that’s unhealthy.
Failure to answer the question

is it zero Victorian juniors as regular players for the storm

a team with bad tv ratings and poor juniors is not a benchmark for expansion

The vast majority of Dolphins fans and I mean current season members and those regularly attending games at Suncorp, I doubt were following them when they were just a QLD cup side. Most QLD cup sides would get attendances in the hundreds most weekends. Dolphins Leagues might have about 50k members or so but they are not following the team.
That’s the exactly the point lmao

easts tigers will be the same as the dolphins

Their crowds will be double Perths. They will produce juniors and are valuable to tv networks

Unfortunately there would be barely be "thousands" of people who regularly attend and follow the the entire BRL now.

Make no bones also, the BRL is a third tier comp.

The State League is the first tier of QRL football in 2024, and clearly 2nd tier to the NRL.

I’m too busy enjoying the success of Australia’s most popular rugby league club. The mighty Melbourne Storm!
I wouldn't bother, he's bitter that Balmain went bust and Storm are thriving. Old man living in the 80s, angry at the world

He argues the Storm has poor ratings which without fox data actually isn’t provable either way.
He argues that the storm hasn’t produced juniors. They have and they are coming through.

He doesn’t dispute:

Growth in participation
Growth in membership (fwiw)
Growth in crowds
Growth in sponsorship
Growth in profile for the game in a very sticky market
Recognised nationally as one of Australia’s biggest sporting brands
Success on field
Growth in pathways development
Success (now) in underage Sydney comps

He’s on shaky ground methinks

Now I remember why I blocked you last time
Because you can’t stand evidence and facts? Hardly my problem.
By the way. Check this thread out. You’ll enjoy it.

There's no chance of getting a decent conversation out of him.

My preference for Perth is based on the following:

Provides games for unpopular time spots in Sydney and Brisbane

Sunday 6pm AEST?

That's just one timeslot. It's not as bad as Thursday 8pm AEST or Fri 6pm AEST.

Strong Government support

The WA Gov has been very vocal, but hasn't told us how the ly plan on supporting a Perth-based club. All they've said is the club will help draw tourists to Perth.

Solid Rugby league history

Not much stronger than Melbourne.

A good (not brilliant) available ground

Corporate facilities are terrible. The club will rely on sponsorship and corporate hospitality for much of its income.

(Very) strong potential for sponsorship.

It'll be competing against Eagles and Dockers in a parochial fumbleball market that's half the size of Melbourne. Only a few of its matches will be broadcast into Perth on FTA.

Good structured in place.
A great model (Storm) to work off.

The Storm survived on extravagant funding from News Ltd for 15 years. They spent more than every club bar Brisbane. When News Ltd sold the club the ARLC injected almost $30m over five years into the club to keep it viable. Between 1998 and 2018 it received an additional $100m from News Ltd/ARLC. A Perth-based team won't have access to this sort of money.

V'landys said "no money will be wasted on rusted on AFL states".

It’s genuine expansion.

It's an expensive dot on the map.

It provides access to a new player pool.

Melbourne has just 5k local players. Most of them are expatriates from New Zealand, Queensland, NSW and Brisbane.

The Goodwin brothers were originally from NSW.

it represents our first opportunity to grow in a market dominated by your opposition. They won’t want this.

They won't care because the Eagles and Dockers are strongly embedded in Perth's social fabric. AwFuL can cause significant problems for an NRL team by introducing a third Perth side.

The argument against appears to be fear of risk and whatever happened in Superleague over 25 years ago.

Toughen up lads.Perth is the go.

Like I said above, it'll be expensive and the ARLC cover the extravagant funding that it will require. The other 17 clubs, NSWRL and QRL will never agree to provide Perth with the concessions it will need to survive and thrive. The Storm spent $2-4m more than they made to become strong on the field. They also benefited from the axing of the Reds, Mariners and Crushers at end of 1997. Perth won't have these advantages.

Perth will be a poor man's version of the Titans.

Gets completely owned and runs to the block button as usual.

Imagine being an adult and desperately needing a safe space all the time where you only hear opinions of people who agree with every dumb claim you make.
